Yet another weekend has passed by rather too quickly :(

Today was NSD 10 so only another 5 until I reach my target. Tomorrow I have to pay for the day camp that DD is attending so I will make sure I get any other stuff I may need for the week ahead.

I completed the washing mountain & everything is neatly folded or hung in the magic airing cupboard ;).

I did a bit of tidying & hoovering & DD made some cakes to take over to my grandmothers, I really shouldnt have eaten any as I've regained 2lbs .

I spent a good half hour looking at the boots I want but am so sick of the debt & all the consequences of it that I am resisting. Grudgingly I admit; but still resisting.

Kind neighbour brought over a few potatoes & some limes earlier. Wasnt sure what to do with the limes other than make lime curd so have just sliced them & frozen them for now - good to have ready supply for Gordon ;).

Plan for the week ahead is to eat less, move more, work hard & spend as little as possible.

    Oh the joy :rotfl:

    Hi Lula

Just sped read the last week on your diary and would like to reinforce what others have said......You are most definitely NOT a frugal failure ..so please exchange those whips for another glass of Gordon and frozen lime ;)....or Beechie will be paying you a visit

Sometimes things move so slowly it;s diffcult to feel that we're getting anywhere....there's quite a lot of peepies feeling like this on the diaries atm.......but think about where you were this time last year...and the year before that...and look at how far you;ve come...WELL DONE LADY!! :T:T

Chin up my faulous friend..:kisses3:..spring will be here soon.....warmer weather, allotments, gardening, cheap veggies and less heating bills..(and no need to wear boots ;))..that will perk us up and there's not too long to wait now :beer:

    Hugs to you

Good evening to all you fabulous peeps, thanks for your message Bowski - glad to hear you've been doing good things for your benefit :)

Tonight is a Jacaranda night in Lulaville, it's just looks so pretty in my sparkly turquoise wine glasses :D

Watching the Brits at the same time so I do apologise if this post appears just a bit distracted & disconnected ... no, it has nothing to do with the size of my wine glasses :p.

I meant to post yesterday but didnt finish home-job until 10pm :( & by then was only fit for a bath & a chapter of my book in bed.

I dropped DD off at camp & it seems that I had grossly overestimated the cost, turns out it's half what I thought :j only thing is they dont take cards so I had to stop at a cashpoint on the way the way to pick DD up. She had a great time & was thoroughly exhausted - all gone according to plan then ;).

We stopped off at the co op on the way home as we'd run out of bread - reduced to 55p & also fancied some teackes - reduced to 49p which means that I now have £ 5.48 left until the end of the month  I also spent pounds on wine as the delicious & very pretty Jacaranda is on offer at 2 bottles for £7 so I had to get some, but it doesnt come out of the grocery budget :p

Today was NSD number 11 :) & I was pondering on the good fortune that meant I didnt have to spend as much on child care as I'd thought. I calculated that this meant that I had a bit of spare cash so could therefore afford to buy those boots & sunglasses that I'm not meant to be buying ;). All this was going through my head while I was doing hideous home-job & all of a sudden it hit me that in order to pay for those boots it would actually equate to more time spent having to do hideous home-job :(.

In fact, I worked out that taking average earnings & taking into account deductions, that I would have to do 2 weeks of hideous home-job in order to pay for those boots & sunglasses .

'Nuff said - sarah, I think your logic has finally sunk in :A

Why yes I do , didnt you go on a cocktail course last year ? ... tell me more please :D

Onwards ... DD announced this morning on the way to sports camp that she would like to go again on friday .. I reminded her that she had previously wanted to have Bessfriend round to play but she was determined & I was secretly quite relieved as it shows that she's confident enough to do her own thing - there havent been any children that she previously knew - as she was always very shy when younger.

I was less relieved when it turned out that my original estimate of the cost was right & that the guy who took the payment had miscalculated so I had to pay an extra £22 today :( ... good job I didnt get those boots then :rotfl:

Had a dissatisfying day at work & as both bosses were out they just kept ringing in every half an hour . So annoyed that I ended up buying a sandwich & eating too much chocolate :o. I noticed that the sports centre offers a very good price on gym membership for parents of pupils at the secondary school - just £5 a week :T so when DD goes there I may well join ...

DD is eating so much at the moment due to all the activity I had to buy more bread today - another reduced to 40p loaf ;) some more reduced to 49p teacakes, some reduced to £1.30 salmon fishcakes a small 41p pizza & a 44p garlic bread for DDs tea & some more 82p oats to make hobnobs for my grandmother :D. Total spend £ 3.86 & total left out of the grocery budget is .... £1.62p. I'm really not sure if we can do it, but I certainly plan to try.

Next month I will take the grocery budget out of the bank in cash & keep it in a separate purse. I'm going to try to do it for £30 a week as I dont think we'll need any household or cleaning items.

I've also increased DD's fund for hobbies & clubs to incorporate holiday clubs & have £40 in there. I've also started up a weekly 'entertainment' budget of just £10 a week & so far not spent anything. We're living a very simple mainly home & family oriented life at the moment - mainly due to the weather - & making the most of the entertainment we already have installed as part of our everyday lives eg tv, dvds, music, internet, books, games & consoles. I know we are lucky to have all this & as the weather improves we'll make the most of the big free outdoors too, but it will be good to have some funds to travel into London now & then or the coast & make the most of all that's on offer there for free too :D

Other news is that I received £3 of Tatco vouchers today so that's money off my next fuel top up & another £3 into my paypal account for survey completion. 2 Weeks after I queried the hold up on the Quidco car insurance; it's now moved on to validated :).

A bit miffed at having a very short week end again this week & have to confess to relying on the magic airing cupboard rather than me having done the ironing :o so will have to deal with that this week end as well as some serious cleaning.

    Bye for now

Hey Lula... am slowly catching up on your questing adventures, still loitering back in September though... and wondering how to make hobnobs (though something tells me I should never find out as it might be all I'd eat :D) Looking forward to joining you all in February :D
