Well that's monday dealt with :T

Bonkers day at work due to backlog. Had to make the point that if I'm expected to read boss's emails to check for anything urgent or important then perhaps they should do the same for me  a client asking for an urgent quote last wednesday, should not have to wait until today :o. My female ally is on holiday for the next 10 days so I'm going to have my hands full dealing with all the guys there, time to kick @rse I reckon :rotfl:

I forgot to mention yesterday that it was NSD 5, which makes today NSD 6 :D.

Should be another NSD tomorrow & for the forseeable future ...

    bye for now
    xx

*wafts in on a cloud of delicious scented body butter after a relaxing bath*

    NSD number 7 just completed & many other good deeds done too;

I cleaned the kitchen before going to work, had a productive day at work, made a ramp for Catapuss out of some of the wood in the shed ( after friend pointed out that a pile of bricks by the front door may well serve as steps for the cat ... but would serve as 'invitation /entry system' to random burglars equally well ) A nearby road had 5 burglaries within 24 hours  & I also booked DD in to activity camp for half term. It's going to cost me £60 :( so I'll have to work a couple of friday s to make up for the days I lost last week when DD was ill as I cant afford to lose the wages & dont want to take it as holiday.

Explained to Boss that I may have to change my hours slightly & he said something about having to be flexible & then said " It must be hard for you". Maybe he was trying to be nice but it came across as rather patronizing . My hackles rose a bit as I really dont think I need any pity, particularly not from a man :p.

Funny really, as inspite of all the outward appearance of him being pretty cool, it demonstrated yet again, that most married men really cant handle the concept of a woman who works & raises her offspring happily & alone.

Is it really so hard for men to accept that some women would rather be on their own & have freedom & choices rather than the inevitable disappointment that men bring to the relationship party ?

In spite of the debt & the (currently) rather bland social scene, I really love my life :D

I also love Greek Style yoghurt & have troughed rather too much tonight :o, the book I'm reading & my bed which is where I'm going now ...

    G'night
    xx

I have to confess that I'm on the elephant juice tonight, today has been a long long day & I need to chill.

I've earned enough to cover DDs camp next week & also buy a few groceries tomorrow. There's no way I'll get to the end of the month within the £150 budget unless I realistically reassign the household items shopping I did into the months when I actually use them.

So, having done some very truthful calculations I am confident that I will not use the washing powder, fabric softener, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, most of the lightbulbs, toothpaste, handwash, cloths & kitchen foil during this month as I still have plenty left of what is already in use - & in the case of toothpaste, 2 tubes already in stock ;)

This adds up to £22.54 which I am allocating back to Februarys' budget which means I now have £40.58 left to spend :D.

Today has been remarkable in that not only is it NSD number 8, but also my second week of getting 4 NSDs in a row.

I am very very tired tonight so am going to treat myself to some more delicious yoghurt, watch Desperate Houswives & go to bed.

Hope to be more lively & entertaining tomorrow ...

    G'night
    xx

Creative budgeting there Lula - I like it. And there is logic behind it! Enjoy your elephant juice and yoghurt! (today i found my yoghurt was 5days out of date, still i enjoyed it Monday when it must have been 3days out of date!)

Elephant Juice & Yoghurt...jeepers you will be icky tomorrow:eek:

Am loving the creative accounting too.

Sorry am not about much am busy doing stuff..am off to the Spring Fair again tomorrow as its the last day and I am hoping to blag some freebies - I have my eye on a fab roll of wrapping paper that has chandeliers printed on it..its very classy.

After much soul searching, I have decided to branch out with my business which is another reason for going back to the Spring Fair..I want to place an order (I know it is spending money but needs must) for some sample wedding favour boxes and a frame thingy that I can use to make italian bombonieres to flog as wedding favours - the frame thingy is £77:eek: but I had the idea that I could also hire it out. My brain works in odd ways...have news too as today I was asked to be the UK agent for the biggest wedding planner business on gran canaria..of course I said yes:D So I shall be having wall to wall meetings when I am out there which I have to account for in case Mr Tax Man decides to be nosy:eek:

Have been very MSE and managed to fix my suitcase as there was a massive crack by one of the wheels - I used some extra strong gloop and put several layers on and in it and now its fixed:j

Best update my siggy - have had another NSD today:cool:

    Hello lovelies,

Horace - great news on being an agent for Gran Canaria ... I may have a contact there ... will pm if so. Well done on fixing suitcase in a very MSE fashion ... more money to spend on other fabulous things then ;) I must go & investigate a bomboniere, am ashamedly clueless, unles it's a sweetie dish :o.

Tixy - food in this home is out of date when it smells wrong :rotfl:

ShoeGal - hello sweetie, lovely to hear from you :D will be popping in to your thread later to see what you've been up to.

Yesterday was not a NSD, there was a trip to Waitrose which involved spending £34.03 leaving me with a grand total of £6.47 until the end of the month :rotfl:. Clearly that is not going to suffice unless I hypnotize DD into eating whatever I provide. The sports camp during half term week hasnt helped the grocery budget as it means another week of packed lunches.

I feel like a frugal failure this month, have had no spare cash at all & had to spend out on extras like sports camp which I hadnt budgeted for & cat flaps & anti flea & worming stuff which again I hadnt budgeted for. I obviously need to build these costs into my allowance & have doubled the cash amount I save towards DDs clubs & hobbies fund each week.

The minimum payment on Barclaycard is a rather scary £125 due 5th March which is fine as I will have been paid by then, and then CC2 a week or so later. I did all my naughty spending on CC2 last weekend ( wine glasses, scales, groceries etc) which came to nearly £100 . I have returned one of the cat flaps so that will be refunded but I felt so bad that this evening I withdrew £100 from the Drip Funded Account to pay it back. That now has only £53 in it :(.

Compared to many people's debts £5,000 is not a lot, but right now it seems like a very large mountain to shift :wall:. I know that I am making progress & that having organized an account where I save towards future costs is a big step forward, & in general I think I have learned a lot of lessons that will stick, but still I will be so much happier when the total outstanding is down to about £3,000 ...

Need another glass of wine - all out of elephant juice & now on the customer gifts (not so good :()

    Hoping for a NSWeekend

    bye for now

But you are making progress lovey and are so organised with all your pots and funds etc. How do you ever keep track of it all lady? Thanks for the nice message on my diary.

OOh did I tell you I went into the Glasgow Waitrose last week. It was total food !!!!!! and I have obviously totally changed as I didn't buy 1 single thing!!!

Enjoy the wine, I'm not drinking at all til Sunday to try to shift the wretched UTI. X

Lula, you are not a frugal failure at all.:naughty: I think you are doing brilliantly, you have managed all those extra expenses, held down two jobs, made all your cc payments, bought some [STRIKE]treats[/STRIKE] necessities and next month your total will be under £5k. It will be down to £3k in no time. :)

Hope the customer offerings are not as bad as you suspect and you are currently sitting with your feet up, sipping something from a lovely glass and reaching for a chocolate:D.
