    Hello gorgeous people :A

Had another highly entertaining day at work, people coming & going every 5 minutes, different departments to visit & new things to learn; it's such a joy after 8 years of working at home alone in a no-brain-required job. I'm definitely losing the love for home job. Fast. I couldnt give a toss whether the boss is making money or not. Apparently horse number 4 has now arrived & a new bathroom is also in progress Amazing recovery for someone who was apparently at deaths door and in dire financial straits a couple of months ago .

I want to clear my debts by this time next year as losing motivation to do 2 jobs indefinitely. Well, that's assuming I get through my 3 month trial period at work job :o. If I knew that by working the 2 jobs & living like a proper pauper I could clear the Cc in a year, I would honestly not mind. but stretching it to 2 years is really doing my head in at the moment.

Am still grumpy about the cambelt business as that felt like two steps back after going one forwards. I'm scared of what may occurr next that sets my Quest back a few months . I need to do a serious financial overview of extra costs next year, but just dont seem to have the time. I havent even had time to sort through the presents i have bought & the ones i still need to get. DD is at Bessfriends party & sleepover on saturday, then today came home with an invitation for another party on sunday  more shopping to do :(.

One rather sneaky thing I've done though is to take an unwanted gfit from last year & split it into 2 to share between teacher & teaching assisstant :shhh:. Have a box with 3 bath & body lotions, a candle, puff thing & bath bomb in it so thats easily divisble by 2 :D. I bought the Brownies leaders chocolate oranges & DD hand made them really sweet cards so that's done too.

Also discovered that DD has inherited my weird capacity for remebering random things. I got out the wrapping paper for above presents & she immediately said " oh, that's the same wrapping paper that Santa used last year". I have always bought separate paper for 'his' presents & never been caught out before. I think she knows anyway & is just being smart by not letting on & also taking me for every penny. Santa should be making some financial contribution in my opinion, rather than just getting all the glory. Typcial of the males in my life .

Amazing but true is that today has been an NSD. Sadly, this was cancelled out by receiving the ammended council tax bill so still have another £100 to pay. Cant wait until end of January when I get a full months wages & can start paying everything monthly ... but also a bit reluctant to get too excited as the trial period at work ends 2 weeks later. I dont like all this uncertainty & have had this throughout my Quest. Makes it difficult to budget, plan debt repayments & maintain momentum.

    Enough whining for now ...

    night night

    Hey Lula

Well it does sound as if you are getting on well at new job so I'm keeping everything crossed that you will pass through the trial period.

Personally I would imagine that unless you were unbelievably awful they would keep you on. I mean they wouldn't have employed you in first place if they didn't think they had work for you to do?

    Good luck

Not going to suggest anything, as this unfortunately sounds like you're going to have to plod through it and slog it out. But this :grouphug: is for you.

    Hello again,

thanks to makeup for ever encouraging & supportive words :A & to Z for the dodgy hug :A.

In my mind I am a witty & sassy business tycoon full of charm & savvy ... in reality I am a scatty & yet amiable liability who completely missed the last page of an order & therefore omitted 40 items out of 100 for an order . Thankfully, one of the guys picked up on my mistake, ignored my idiocy, completed the order correctly & then told me quietly :o. Full credit to him :T so I immediately publicly owned up to my monumental stupidity, thanked him for noticing & suggested to boss that we swap jobs as he was obviously more competent .

I am struggling at the moment & it worries me :( . It's a similar role to my last office based job where I could multi task without dropping anything, always knew what was happening all the time, preempted any problems & was top of my game & offered a pay rise to stay. Now, I just cant seem to retain information for more than minute & for more than one thing at a time. Yes, the company does bespoke work rather than pre specified & set pieces, yes it is rather chaotic & everyone contradicts eachother as to how to proceed but still I keep making mistakes .

I like the job, the people I work with & for & really want to stay but am concerned that my current performance denotes me as not being a serious enough contributor to keep on permanently. It bothers me; it's at the back of my mind all the time, along with all that needs to be done for christmas, organizing DD, organizing the home, trying to ignore impending family meltdown, maintaining family harmony while wanting to tell 90% of them to leave me alone for a year or two :o, worrying about DD1 & her not having a car, keeping on top of bills, spending, surveys & of course debt repayment.

Need another drink ... bear with me please

Ok, have nourished myself with some cheese & crackers ( there's a wotsits famine here & I refuse to eat peanuts ever again as they make my body fat & my head hurt - dehydration )

This isnt meant to be a rant or whine, more me just using the space to externalise my thoughts so not in need of any input or sympathy as such ... but please do feel free to comment or express an opinion if desired :D.

NSD number 6 today - going to work saves money :D. Was offered extra home job work & accepted as a person in debt should never turn down an offer like that. I've done it so will boost next week's income.

Have had the revised/amended TC award notice today so can now work out a kind of budget for the next couple of months :D.

I dont have time/brain power to work out a budget .

I dont have time/brainpower to work out what presents I still need to get.

I have to attend a trumpet rendition tomorrow morning _pale_ then go shopping for the things I dont know whether I need to get. These things include a secret santa present for a 20 something year old who I have spoken to about 5 times in relation to work only

DD is attending 2 parties & a sleepover this weekend & requires every item of clothing that is most probably in the laundry basket

I have just sneezed 12 times in succession which means that I am either about to get a full blown cold in time for the christmas outing on monday OR that my home is a dust bucket & in need of serious domestic attention. Probably both

    I am still fat.

I have now had 2 G&Ts & think it is now time to break into the second jar of chocolates bought for festive feasting :o.

Yes, I am still fat :wall:

    Now Lula,

You are juggling more balls than Jordan, no wonder you're a bit stressed oot. When you're at work I think you should adopt the air of this succesful tycoon type (huge heels, specs in hair etc) and act as if that is all you have to think about then when you get home you can do all your other bits. Worry about budget for the New Year in the new Year, sit down and do it and once it's done it's done. And as my wise mother says 'Maybe one day the thing you worried about will be as bad as you thought it was going to be'! XXX

    Awww Lula
    :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

More dodgy hugs.....and piggie licks from a perkier Beechie ...(..that and the fact he has started purring makes me think he must have some feline genes in him somehwere :confused:)

Methinks you are being a tad hard on yourself o fabulous one...It's very early days yet for you to expect to start getting on top of this bespoke work.......
In our company all our work was bespoke, and despite the fact we had systems and procedures and templates in place, each case was different and my poor team used to go crazy until they had been working with us for about a year by which time they finally started to feel they were actually cracking it! In your case it seems that there is no one person you can go to who can give you a definitive answer, they all contradict each other and therefore it is extremely difficult to be proactive at the moment - terribly frustrating for you...but it's their problem/responsibility not yours.........and it certainly doesn;t mean you are not up for the job!

I can;t multitask anymore either...and my short term memory is shot to pieces...... Sometimes I display glimmers of my former proactive efficient self.like I was before the flood...(oh yes, when the only thing that mattered was doing the job ridiculously perfectly to the exclusion of anything else such as moi and my chill time) ...HOwever I am getting better and gradually my focus and concentration span is improving. ..There are many days still when I just can;t get it together. ....and it is worse when there is a lot on my mind in terms of emotional stuff (like families, sick piggies and debt ) to deal with (la.k.a. the whole of the last four weeks :o).

I have every confidence that you are a brilliant employee - I;d have you in my company any day.....just give yourself a but more time to get settled in and maybe lower the bar a bit for a while.......my bet is that you are expecting far more of yourself than your employers are.....and they're probably still blown away by the fact that they now have a dedicated employee who really cares about the job, and wants to "get it right" - pure gold dust you are chicky :T (And everyone makes mistakes Hun.....we're only human after all) :kisses3:

I'm up your way on monday.....will give you a bell tomorrow ;)

    Hugs from the piggies

You are a dopey tart! and I mean that in the nicest possible way. The bits you ommitted to include in your previous woe is me tirade is that the other occupants of the swanky office you now work in don't have to start their day ensuring that their DD has everything she needs and arrives at school on time before making it to work, nor do they return home to that same DD and her menagerie and an allotment and a second job to make up for the fact that a single parents life is the hardest one on the planet. No siree bob the hardest descision those 20 year olds make each morning is what shade of lippy to wear with their choice of shoes.

Everyone makes mistakes. Its how we learn. Having missed one page of one order once you will now obsessively check every future order to make sure this never happens again. Equally admitting you're human and giving someone else credit for correcting your error quietly will earn you humungous qunatities of brownie points from everyone everywhere for you are the goddess of all things f*ing fabulous.

The feeling of forgetfulness is why post it notes were invented.

As for Secret Santa gifts for 20 year olds thats soooo easy. Retro sweeties dearie. Fill a gift bag with all sorts of tiny sweets from Chuppa Chups to Parma Violets, Jelly Tots, Tootie Frooties the works. They'll go down a storm. Ecclectic but fun without wrecking diets as they're in teeny packs. You should be able to get most of them from the Co-Op whilst you're replenishing your pink wine stash.

Lula..get a grip woman..you do loads and so you made a mistake at work but you won't make that mistake again. I would also employ you - I need someone to make hobnobs:cool: You, my dear, are not perfect - none of us are, we all boob somewhere or other.

Retro sweets always go down well and they are cheapish, or you could go into Borders Books and get a hugely discounted book. I visited my local Borders today (I had intended going to Waterstones to spend some free vouchers but didnt go) as all their books were either 30, 40 or even 50% off - they are in administration so everything must go so I stocked up. I like Borders and its a shame that they have gone bust but good for me as the books were cheap as chips - even the new Dan Brown The Lost Symbol was half price:cool:
