    Hi Lula,

Had to jump in and say I need tea towels too as these ones are ancient and a bit minging and don't fit the rest of my fab flat!!!

Need to ask about the clothes challenge Lula. I work for a retailer and have to buy uniform from them. Would that count off my clothes challenge or can I have that as I HAVE to buy it and also it's a bit fancy to wear in real life?

    What are your thoughts?

Hmmmm  my thoughts are that we should be having £100 a month to spend :D & for the old pre DFW me that would have been a cheap month :shhh:

However when I started the challenge I was working from home so didnt have a 'work wardrobe' as such so the £100 challenge was just for home clothes. Therefore, you having to buy work clothes would not count :D

For the 2010 challenge I am going to keep to the £100 for home clothes, but as I am now needing a work wardrobe too I intend to set that at £100 too.

No, sarahb - that does not mean you can pretend stuff is for work & sneakily double your budget :naughty::D

I will get the new challenge up & running & ready for new members this week ... the current one has gone a bit quiet & I am suspicious.

Good evening to all & hope your weekends have been satisfying.

I've had a very busy one & now feel very energised & capable of taking on anything, er make that almost anything :D.

DD has also had a great weekend & came back bearing sweeties & cake which she dutifully shared with me .

I was so fired up during my 24 hours task-fest that I even manged to change the furniture around in her bedroom. I've been wanting to do this for ages & was a bit apprehensive as she has always fiercely told me not to :o but she loves it & now has owhere to hide stuff she cant be bothered to put away. I will turn her into a tidy person, I will, I will :D

Attempted to buy a job lot of wet cat food from Pets are us or whatever its called but was barred from entering the shop by a 12 year old. My clock said 3.58 but her wouldnt let me in, citing sunday trading laws & breaking them . Then had to drive around town for half an hour while waiting to pick DD & Bessfriend up from party, there was nowhere to park .

The upshot is I had another NSD :D.

No money being paid to CCs this week as no spare money in my account until cheques clear. When balance goes below £50 I worry in case there's a DD I've forgotten about.

I now have 3 missing Quidco transactions so have fired off some enquiries.

The DD sitter for tomorrow nights' work do seems to have gone missing & am now concerned about her actually remembering & turning up. I'm also concerned as to when I will get home job work done . With DD at the pantomime until 5.30 the logistics are dodgy at best & could go horriby wrong. Have been unsure all along but will be my only adult only outing over christmas & havent worn a sparkly dress since last year so keen to go.

I'll just have to wait & see what happnes, now going to watch that dvd & do my nails ...

    night night

My little girl is growing up & wont want to hang out with me for ever :( so I need to spend as much time as I can with her.QUOTE]

I know just what you mean, it's scary isn't it! It sounds like the 3 of you (or should that be 4 if Gordon's going to be there too?) are going to have a great christmas though, doing what you want when you want

I am VERY impressed with your list :j:T:j I don't think I'd ever get that lot done in a year, never mind one weekend. It must feel brilliant to know all that's done and out the way.

Did you manage to get hold of your babysitter? If not I can set off now :D I am chief babysitter and although not keen on kids I am nice to them lol Let your hair down and have a fabulous sparkly night  Is the good looking one going to be there?

I hope you have a good week in work and it restores your faith in yourself coz you really are fabulous you know!!

I did say that if it only took a year to be Debt Free then I would be prepared to scrimp & live like a pauper do it. Time to put my money where my mouth is then .

Hi Lula-Hula, I have designated next year as a crazy saving year - I want to get our loft converted and considering we are both working full time now is the time to save! We have *ahem* only;) £10,000 to save:eek:, considering that we managed to save a grand total of £1,200 all year I am not quite sure how we will do it, but 2010 is now '20-10k year of the loft!'.

So if you are going super-frugal please please please post loads of tips so I can just copy what you do.

bring on the new dress challenge, that has been my favourite of the year.:T You are truly an:A

    Hello beautiful people :hello:

It's been a crazy crazy week here in Lulaville & I am so grateful for your lovely comments on my thread in my absence.

Bowski - am so with you on the not being a kiddy person :o I love mine to bits but that's kind of where it ends . DD has often complained that only one of my friends has children ... the one that safely lives 250 miles away :rotfl:

    Souk08 - I sparkled like a dream :D

Shoe Gal, my week has been bonkers but it's now calming down & should be fairly chilled now until the new year.

The work do on monday was fab :j I really enjoyed myself, right up until I got home at 12.30 & then had to start home job  There was nothing for it but to have another glass of wine & get stuck in. I crawled into bed about quarter to 4 & felt really really rubbish all day. Naturally, that day was the very day that Gorgeous Guy decided to show his face again :o. All I can say is that at least I still had most of the previous night's mascara & green sparkly eyeliner on - 3 cheers for the Body Shops smudge & drunken sleep proof eyeliner :T Other than that I probably looked about 100, dead & like I'd got dressed in the dark with my eyes closed ... which I had

    Hey ho :rotfl:

I'm still enjoying the job & seem to be getting my head round stuff a bit more now. I am all set to quit the home job but my colleague wont hear of it. I wonder whether she is secretly hoping that I dont enjoy the work job & return to being number one reliable worker again. Shant :p but if I want to clear the CC by this time next year then I am going to need every tiny penny so am just going to have to do both & get used to it.

    I have a confession to make :o

CC2 (Capital One) sent me narky letter syaing that they had only agreed to defer their interest hike if I didnt use the card, but as I had then they were closing my account & I should continue to pay until the debt clear .

*seething* barely describes my reaction. I havent used the card at all. On one occasion I made a payment in error as I had forgotten that the card was set up on my amazon account. I immediately had the seller refund the payment - which they did :A& also had the courtesy to ring Capital One to explain what had happened. Was told it didnt matter & to carry on as normal.

I always intended to close the account anyway as soon as cleared, but this provoked decisive action. I hopped straight onto my Barclaycard account & did a balance transfer . I was a bit hasty as the 6.9% only kicks in when I've cleared the £2,600 already outstanding but hopefully that will provide the ultimate incentive to clear it ASAP. It will take a couple of weeks to go through but the satisfaction of closing the CC2 account will be worth it & I've vowed to send back absolutely every piece of paper associated with the account along with the card itself :D

At least I will only have 2 CCs to deal with from now on.

I have done blindingly well with the NSDs & am now up to number 10  I've also been doing a few surveys & had another £6 paid into my paypal account. I've also had responses from my quidco tracking queries & 2 of them have now validated & the 3rd was actually my mistake :o.

If DDs school is open tomorrow I will go shopping for a couple of last minute bits she requested but other than that I think I'm all done.

Waitrose have sent me a voucher for some free chocolates :T so I will collect those & keep as a standby gift. I have finally written out all the cards that need to be sent & will post them tomorrow.

I did forget to fill the car up today :doh:so that also has to be a priority & I want to use Tatco for this as they sent me £1 off voucher & I shall then avoid the place for as long as possible :p:D

Off to catch up with some diaries now

    xx
