Thanks to the counselling I had earlier this year I dont feel rubbish or inadequate :j, I think it's sad that my own family can be so scornful of my achievements & I also believe I am a much nicer & more sympathetic person than those who have led charmed lives :p.

I am valid in my own right & as I've said before, they can F*** Off because I am Fabulous :D

I'm glad you feel like that because it's so true!

I know I've never met you, but 'knowing' you for about 18 months now and knowing what you've been through and everything you've achieved I feel proud of you! (that probably sounds odd and stalkerish but I hope you know what I mean :o).

I hope you're having a nice Sunday and I'm glad to hear you have plenty of alcohol in the house :D

Hey, another weekend gone & still no christmas cards done .

I seem to have been busy doing stuff all weekend apart form watching a film with DD & yet I still have so much to do.

I think I've underestimated how much less time I have during the week to get things done so the weekend seems to be one long chores fest . Today I felt like I was just cleaning, cooking, washing & tidying all day. I've had bath, done my goddessing & now realised that I havent done the ironing . Cant be bothered either :p.

I have calmed down after yesterday's mild rage & thanks for all the lovely comments. Bowski, that was so lovely I just wanted to give you a big hug - in a non stalker ish way of course :rotfl:

Spending most of yesterday faffing around doing family stuff is one of the reasons I haven got all my stuff done. I was making soup & hobnobs by 9.30, out of the door at 11, showing Dad where the memorial is at 12.30 & giving him lunch by 2.00. ( which apparently wasnt enough for him ) I was visiting my grandmother at 3.45 & not home again until 5.30.

Cant be doing that too often, I need my week ends now :D.

We went to local garden centre to see the christmas displays but there was nothing there :( we did get some kitty food on a bogof offer which saved £14.60 something & means we wont need to buy any dry stuff for a long time.

Made a payment to CC2 which is now £ 1,960 - first time under the £2,000 mark so very pleased with that. The total outstanding now is £5,583 .I might have made it under £5,000 without the memorial payment but feel the need to have a bit of spare cash for the holidays so not going to worry now.

    Must go update sig ...

You may need to tell your Dad to 'Get out of my Way, I'm Fabulous!'. What a mean thing to say. X

Lula, that is a really horrible thing to have to hear and I'm glad you feel a touch better after ranting on here.

Me and my sister have different lives, she is married with the house & kids and I'm renting with a reasonable job. We're just different though, she is more of a homebody than me - I have a much bigger social circle and go out lots more than her as well as jetting off on hols (hmmm how on earth did I get my debts )

We're just different though, neither of us is better than the other and same is true of you and your sister.

Some people are so insensitive though  it shouldn't be a competition between siblings and most of the time it isn't but other's make out it is

All that carp about jobs is nonsense really, when you have children your priorities change. It is hard to do a 'high powered' job without paying a fortune for childcare and anyway, those kind of jobs often entail working long hard hours and that isn't for everyone.

Some of my friends have really good jobs that pay extremely well but they also work extremely hard and do long hours. I get paid reasonably well and work normal hours and other friends have jobs that are less demanding but equally pay less but they like them for that reason!! Horses for courses and all that.

Anyway sounds like you are planning well for Christmas and getting things in order. Do you have any Christmas plays/ Carol concerts etc to attend with DD2?
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

    Hello :D

Thanks to makeup for more lovely words :A

I quite agree as to people being different rather than comparable & fortunately so do most people. It is sad that 'success' & 'validity' is often measured in financial terms or by accumulated possessions, marital or or employment status, rather than by how happy a person is, or what their contribution to society as whole is - often the unpaid & unnoticed are those who give so much more than those with large salaries & visible wealth

I'm rather annoyed that I have still been quietly seething today & mentally concocting scathing emails :o. My feisty & somewhat defensive nature craves retaliation for injuries caused, but now after a day's pondering I have decided that my best course of action is to do nothing other than to be rather unavailable for quite some time.

    Moving on ...

I have had a NSD today :D number 4 no less. I have also just ordered a game from Amazon & it hasnt cost me a penny - surveys ;).

My glass of G&T is now empty; I am an eternal optimist, but when the lemon is lying dejectedly on the floor of the glass, then 'empty' is the only word for it :( I would love to refill it & watch that mournful little slice bob up to the top again on a cushion of tonic bubbles, but it is a school night & I need to keep my half wits about me.

*Wanders off, muttering to self* ...

:DLula - sometimes parents can be a pain in the aspidisteras - remember that you are a wonderful woman who has managed to bring up two lovely DDs as well as juggling work and an allottment.

Another silver fan here..I was out earlier in M&Co - I shall go in there again methinks as they had some rather nice clothes but I was on a mission as my mum has been watching gok or something like that and has discovered that if she wears modern jewellery she will look younger. She told me that she had seen a silver pendant that she liked although she didnt describe it so I bought both (one looks like a squashed fat polo with diamante chips down one side, the other is a wierd shaped loop) and I bought myself a pair of earrings for £4 as these are silver and twisty (just quirky and I love them).

Am most envious of your mince pie voucher Lula - they havent sent me anything for months but when I spoke to them in Waitrose today they said that they didnt know what was going on with that My Waitrose thing as it was rather hit and miss. Actually I had better put the pies n stuff in the freezer as I am out for dinner tomorrow night at the casino (no money will be spent on the tables at all).

Now what do I wear tomorrow night? do I go really smart - is it black patterned skirt, or lilac skirt or chocolate brown and silver? or do I wear trousers? I am vearing towards a skirt and maybe a bolero jumper to co-ordinate - decisions decisions. I have rooted out some shoes - I think my metalic ones as they have a lower heel as opposed to the 4" heeled limousine shoes that I wore once and they havent been on my feet since:rolleyes:

Remember Lula - you can't choose your family but you can choose your friends and sometimes friends are more important than family

    Evening all,

wise words ^ as always H, thanks & I do hope your mum likes her pendants. Havent been in to an M & co, a friend of mine is always getting fabby bits there but I've never seen one & have no intention of going to Slough just to shop there. Actually, have no intention of going to Slough full stop :D.

Work was completely bonkers today, people in & out, visitors everywhere & everyone very hyped up & full of humour, there's plenty of laughter there & I do like that in the workplace. Suits my not very serious nature

I've checked out the latest barclaycard statement & was panicking but then realised that the minimum payment isnt due until 7th January so can pay that out of December wages. Only had about an hour & half of home job work to do & got a glimpse of the future & how life will be once debts are paid & I dont need to do it anymore. A life where I enjoy cooking a meal in the evening, have time to spend with DD watching Harry Potter Puppets on youtube & relaxing in the bath with a book rather than having a hasty dip. I like the look of this future & aim to arrive there asap.

As to carol services & plays etc makeup - I am due to hear DD & the choir sing on firday, along with a trumpet 'recital' ?. DD has lost the love for her trumpet but assures me that she can play jingle bells very well. Just hope the other 30 trumpeteers can too

Brownies christmas party tomorrw & I realised I should buy a smal gift for the leaders so a quick trip to the co op & £9.96 later I havent had a NSD :(.

Never mind, will try hard for another tomorrow :D.

oOH, I love a carol service!!! I have a friend of mine who is not religious at all but always tries to make the carol service at St Pauls Cathedral over Christmas.

(he doesn't get on with parents / sisters AT ALL and so he mostly spends it alone or with friends and he doesn't really care - he just wants the break to be relaxing whatever he does and that suits him!)

Enjoy - can imagine 30 trumpets all at once to be somewhat overwhelming but am sure very enjoyable too!! :j

Lula, I fannied around the world for years, live in a rented flat, make not great money, will never be married or have kids (don't want them) but am deliriously happy and don't spend time with people who look on 'success' as just a load of boxes to be ticked. You are obviously Fabulous and doing a great job with your girls. So anyone who tries to put you down deserves very little of your precious time! Away to iron my bedding (I know, I know) as have a date with a new possible FWB tomorrow and do like my boudoir to be nice! XXX
