Hope it isn't going too badly, Lula, de-conifering is never nice. I'll be doing *lots* of gardening now that I'm to have a garden I can actually get into (this one is horrendous - just terraces, overshadowed by trees, and the hill is so steep that from the back of the garden, I can't see the house - its too far down the hill, truly.
Hope you find something out there to enjoy this afternoon.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hope the deconifering went ok ...don't envy you.0

Evening all,
I'm scratched to bits, covered in sap & now have 3 full bags to take to the dump when it reopens but ... all the trees have been trimmed almost to Brazilian standards. The ones that spearate my garden for the neighbours are back to being level with the top of the fence & peeking into their garden always makes me feel better
. It looks like there's been a tornado at a playgroup in there  I must be really neat-freakish but when the playing is done & we go in I like things put away so when I look out it's tidy
. Two of my neighbours leave their washing out for days ... and one of them never seems to actually do any towels or bed linen washing _pale_
Anyway - back in laundry-obsessed Lulaville I've done my 3 loads to day & I've actually ironed it all & it's been put away too. sometimes I scare myself. Just in case you start to think I'm a Stepford wife; let me reassure that we just had cheese on toast for supper with strawberries & cream for dessert - so not exactly masterchef.
I managed to keep the hedgetrimmer cable intact & have investigated buying a cordless one. The really cheap one looked fine until I realised that it only runs for 20 minutes ... & for one that runs for up to 50 minutes, it costs the corresponding amount in £s. Think I'll make do with borrowing my Dads 2 or 3 times a year.
It's been quite warm here but very windy & mostly cloudy so it feels almost autumnal & I'm about to get rid o even ore stuff fomr my wardrobe. I am sending anything a bit worn to the charity shop & for any stuff that's in really good condition I'm putting it in a pile for ebaying next year, along with loads of DDs outgrown clothes which are immaculate. I know I wont do it while I'm still doing home-job so not going to even pretend I will.
I'm getting anxious about the Barclaycard. What with dentist bill & yesterdays expenditure it's hovering around the £600 mark. I havent yet transferred money over from my old current account because I dont yet know which account Tax Credits will go into so I need to keep cash in both accounts to cover various direct debts - some will defintely go out of the new account & some peeps told me it was too late to change this months & it would go out of old account. I hate this not being settled yet .
I also hate the fact that Barclaycard is creeping up again & I'm going to clear that before I pay any extra off the Virgin CC. I can use £200 from the Quidco drip account ( I can use the Virgin 0% to buy DDs bedroom furniture) & I also have another £100 I can 'borrow' from the saving funds.
I do love my teethbut I feel a bit of a fraud having £3,500 in my sig when I know damn well that however much I pretend that Barclaycard doesnt really count .. it is still debt
& worse than that - it's debt I'm paying interest on .
*slides off in shame to do some more calculations & see if any extra cash can be raised to clear it asap*
... I'll be back later.0 -
Look forward to seeing you later Lady!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Sounds like a productive day.
I've finished some cushions for my lovely patio set on my balcony (my lovely sister got it for me as a housewarming).
I'm so glad I can do crafty projects - there was never any room (or indeed point) at my old place.
Maybe the towel / bed linen people just tumble all that???? I'm gonna have to tumble a towel ready for gym tomorrow. Which I know is bad but at least I will be showeing at the gym rather than home so maybe balances out
I hope you manage to sort out the cat issues. I would hate having to deal with that of a morning! :eek:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Well done on all that work...thats amazing.
I tumble dry my towels as I hate it when they dry hard but do hang bedding on the line sometimes0 -
Seems to have been a good day for washing- me too, although i rarely tumble dry towels. I have a don't care attitude to them, they are so rubbish anyway. I have a dream when i sort out a new cupboard, then there will be lovely new towels that DS and DD can't nickBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

It's easy to have towels that DS won't nick: Pink.

True- we have a lovely towel which is pink and funnily enough DD has claimed itIt is the only decent towel i have- some of them are over 20 years old and getting well past their best. Will just have to be cunning and hide new ones:D:rotfl:

The other way is to dry them like sandpaper, get the kids to use them, then cunningly use fabric conditioner the next time..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
