Its not just about how close a bay is to the store is also about having room to get out of the car aided or otherwise
BB are hard to get
True, but at the end of the day some BB holders abuse the system and use the spaces even when they don't need them, or if they have no intention of leaving the vehicle. In those cases they are acting in the same morally bankrupt way as an able bodied person using the space!
Unfortunately the 'gift' of acting like an idiot doesn't discriminate between being disabled or able bodied, sometimes...If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

Same old argument different thread. At the end of the day it's a parking space. I use the parent and child spaces if any are free otherwise I use a normal one (usually) on one occasion I pulled into a disabled space as an old couple were getting out of their car in a parent and child space next to it with no child and a blue badge. They had a right go at me telling me i had no right to park there..... until i reminded them that they were parked in a parent and child space... they seemed to beleive that a blue badge allowed them to park anywhere they liked....
Its a pointless argument and completely un-enforcable i dont know why people keep bringing it up, so what if you have to walk 100 yards further might do *some* of the people with blue badges some good, after all for quite a few things that qualify you for one, exercise is the best medication.
Cue the flaming!0 -
I've often wondered this myself. I know in Tesco, it's about 5 years old, and I was surprised in Sainsburys only recently that it is 12 years old! My kids are now 10 & 8 and I don't tend to park in these places any more, but have often wondered what age limit these supermarkets have.Lots don't have a buggy on the diagram, just and represenation of large and small person. Grandkids would be fine. I wonder what the consensus is on the kids age for parking in these spaces.0 -

No not really, I just wondered where you got the info from.sarahg1969 wrote: »I don't think it matters, really. Does it?0 -
All the above relates to official car parks run by Councils.... Specifically: "If you have a badge, it must only be used for your benefit. If a trip is for someone else and you are a passenger and staying in the car, you cannot use the badge to let them benefit from free parking."
Disabled bays, blue badges, parent & child spaces, have NO legal standing at all in private car parks such as the OP's Tesco - you could park a Centurion tank lengthways across 5 such spaces and you wouldn't be breaking any laws.
There is NO fine to pay.
The tickets are not real - the whole thing is a scam, private companies cannot fine you.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0
