Hi Pickle, am so sorry for your awful day earlier in the week. I hope things with your mum have settled down. I too have felt at a bit of odds with my mum over this adaption for the car etc. Felt she and dad just do not understand whatsoever. At the end of the day your mum is prob your biggest fan, and you are probably v alike?, and you would be there for each other at the drop of a hat? As for work, its a dreadful thing when you think one thing, and then your bosses clearly think another, I wish you well with your job hunting. Have you thought of doing something where you are your own boss? A bit like me!? Have a lovely Easter, and take care of yourself. My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

PAF, give up Kleeneze and become a psychic - you have talent! However, we are both very strong-willed and it doesn't always make day-to-day life easy.

That's kind of the point: there has never been any indication that my bosses thought anything of the sort. In fact, where I work there is a general feeling by the older and generally full-timers that the 'part-timers' (generally young 'uns and students) are slack, and that's often expressed in my presence, but never anything even hinted at about me. I never see/hear about any of them getting the full works, though...*Rolls eyes* Ah well, am not planning on being there long enough for it to continue to niggle me.Please call me 'Pickle'

Right, have been a bit quiet the past few days as there has been little to report.
Have been trying to apply for the job I liked to the look of, but was thwarted by downloading the application form from the website as you need Word and I only have that bloody annoying Works for Windows. Am going to pop along to library forthwith in bid to print it off there (which could be showing my hand a bit as it's a vaguely library-related job. Gah!).
Have also just discovered that my new library book alert system is not as reliable as I thought as I have a £3.85 fine for late returned books.
Was an ickle bit naughty online last night: checked out the Tesco website where I found goegous, large Mr Men cushions on sale for 3 for £10. These cushions are enormous and were originally £20 each, so that's a heck of a bargain (and if you knew me in real life, you would know that one of them has a significant meaning to me). I shouldn't have bought them but a) that's a whopping bargain for something gorgeous; b) I'm half considering giving anything up to 2 of them away as presents later in the year, so it could work out present-friendly, too. And they are soooooooooooo cute!
Better go...I've just been summoned. Please call me 'Pickle'

Hmm...have just spoken to a friend of my mum's whom it seems is in serious debt. I've referred her along to the site and forum (although she doesn't know Pickle is Pickle
) as well as giving her my copy of 'The Money Diet' to read (she has a lot of other things to worry about, so it might not exactly be top of her list of priorities). I hope that she comes and has a read...and doesn't realise that Pickle is Pickle!

Did I ever tell you the story of how I'm an official, honest-to-God, professional librarian?Have also just discovered that my new library book alert system is not as reliable as I thought as I have a £3.85 fine for late returned books.
Ask them to remove the fine/ask to speak to the librarian if they won't and request that they remove the fine as the alert system didn't work - not your fault! Most librarians will cave in almost instantly, public libraries don't seem to encourage the growth of spines in their staff :rotfl: I'm the exception as a) I'm not in public libraries and b) I was once told I look more like a rugby player than a librarian...0
