InaPickle getting out of a pickle!

OK, so today has been pretty horrible: firstly, for some stupid reason I got mixed up and thought the clocks went back last night so it messed up my times for getting in to work today: I was due in at 12 but only realised that 12 was 12 at 11.32 so I was 20 mins late. I stayed behind to make up for it, and had a wicked day selling, so perhaps I will be forgiven by the boss, but still...:o
Also, as I was in such a rush to get out to work I just picked up any old handbag near me, not realising that I didn't have my purse in it. In my haste I didn't have the chance to make a lunch, but luckily brought some pre-packed fruit salad that I managed to snatch from the fridge with me, so I at least had that to eat, but nothing more.Ah well, at least it resulted in a NSD.
When I got in I made some dinner and watched my Sky+ed X Factor. I am now about to get to grips with more of my room and am making the following aims for tonight and tomorrow (a day off from work):
1) tidy my room fully
2) figure out whether I was paid properly from work this month or not
3) figure out upcoming finances
I'll worry about my career etc. from Monday! Please call me 'Pickle'

OK, so I signed up to the bingo of the fox a few days ago after a few glasses of australian white as Ozzie courage. I played a few games last night to get the hang of it, and will be using up all my freebie cash over the next week or so. Given time I'll sign up for a few more, but I want to really get my head round this first.
I haven't done anything towards matched betting of scratchcards yet.
And the biggie...when I got paid this month I thought that I had been underpaid but I didn't want to say anything until I had the chance to go through my payslip with a fine-tooth comb. Needless to say I was right, and it appears to be quite a lot of cash. Evidently I am taking my payslip and my cash-related calculations in to show the boss.
As a result of said error, I checked all my other payslips with a FTC as well, and now I think there have been another few small errors. I'll be enquiring about them as well.
Wish me luck! Please call me 'Pickle'

Yay for being underpaid! Well, not really, but you know what I mean! It will be great once this month's pay is sorted and even better if you get some backdated cash. Fingers crossed!
The only scratchies I do now are the holiday camp bingo and won £5 todayMakes a nice change from 10p...

Ugg...I could do with the cash now, though.
The boss wasn't in today, so I need to see her tomorrow. It gives me a bit more time to number crunch, though...
Also, any advice you have on scratchies is totally welcome - I don't know anything about them. What do you advise? :beer:Please call me 'Pickle'

Update: I made a mistake about the underpayment. It wasn't technically underpayment as they have a very complicated way of working out the pay where I work meaning that all overtime and time-and-a-half pay doesn't get paid until next month; I didn't do all that much overtime last month so that means that I don't paid for the large amount I did until next month. I think this was vaguely explained to me quite poorly at some point, so it seems I've forgotten. Oh well - at least the payroll people can add up (I think - it's very complicated for me to figure out exactly how much I should be paid that way. In fact, it would be harder to figure out a mistake. Still, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.)
Other than that, I was supposed to work 6 days this week, and five next, but my boss has taken away two days this week and one next week as they have been told to cutback. The last time I heard the word 'cutback' 'redundancy' wasn't far behind it, although I don't think they are anywhere near that: I'm just not being stupid enough to think it couldn't happen.
Gah. I'm also feeling quite crap today. Not good. Someone, somewhere, give me a break of some description please! I can't even win of the free online bingo of the fox.
I'll shut up now. Sorry for the whinge. *Scuttles off*Please call me 'Pickle'

Hi In a pickle, just a quickie from me. Have you heard of a guy called Bill Cullen who has written a couple of books, one called Apples from memory? He lived in the slums in Ireland, as a child sold apples, and when he was old enough sent hundreds and hundreds of applications for work. However, he eventually got an interview. I think he did some 700 applications or so from memory. Anyway, he got his job, worked hard , rose to the top of the Co, all against the odds and is now a millionaire! I guess what Im saying is do not give up, you will be ok, the right job will come along for you and all will be well. Just try and stay positive. Take care xx Sometimes I need to read my own words, but I hope you see where Im coming from!!!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T0 -

Thanks PaF!Sorry for the whinge but it feels a little like :wall: at the minute. I need to capitalise on what I can do at the moment (someone had bid on an Ebay item I've had to list 3 times this morning - yay!), then worry about the rest later. It just feels like I'm very stuck at the minute and can't get on with my plans for the rest of my life. It's rather frustrating. At least if I've got rid of all the crap I no longer need it will make life easier when it comes to moving eventually.
Right...onwards and upwards: today I will list things on Ebay, have an extra sort and tidy to see what I can get rid of, ring up my online bank who just do not seem to want to let me take out the cash I put in my account and get in contact with GHD cos my hair straightners have gone bust. Grr!Please call me 'Pickle'

Pickle - my hugest apologies for being so daft and introverted to forget that people who post on my diary have diaries of their own - especially after you were so kind to give me a mention all the way back on page 1!
I have now subscribed and have steadily read my way through each and every post with a hot cup of :coffee: <<<--- the home made kind, you need to reel in your treat spending missie!
I really do feel like a weekend dad, as I've missed all you major ups and downs and even your birthday  Here's a cake to apologise :bdaycake:
Read as a story, your adventures with a French University have been horrendous. Frankly, you were treated like crap and I sympathise entirely. I recently decided not to continue on with my cookery course as I feel life is taking me in a different direction at the mo and ended up losing £450 in fees which I was led to believe that would be returned to me. Uni admin staff are (in my experience), a bunch of rude sods, a law unto themselves and some of the most unhelpful people on the face of the earth.
But still. You've dusted yourself off, have some plans for the future and are tidying up the loose ends and seeing what comes next. Try to remain optimistic - might it be an idea to revisit the goals you had when you started the diary and see where you stand now and where you want to be in, say, a year?
Also, while education can be a good thing, it's not the be all and end of all of life (although it sucks to feel like you've wasted time). Try to remain patient with your job (all work experience is of some use, even if only for a reference and the bank balance) and you'll be back into your groove before you know it!
Right - got to head back into town as my GF forgot her £7 off hair cut voucher :rotfl:0 -
*hugs* Pickle. Sounds like you're up against the same wall as I am at the moment.
