Hey guys, sorry for lack of updates but I've been dead busy this week: lots of work + a lot of everything else. I can't stop now even as I'm off out again, but I posted an important question I needed to ask and LeeSE answered it for me so I didn't want him to think me (too) ignorant in seeming to be all over the forum except my own thread!
Edinburgher, you didn't miss my birthday: it's this Saturday. Let's cut the cake then!(Given that you virtually made it, I expect a good one!)

Thanks Lee! Hope the course went well.
What a weekend! I went out on Saturday night, spent a fortune and got very drunk (!), died all day yesterday of a hangover and am just about recovered today. It was everything I shouldn't have done, and all the better for it. I don't regret a penny of it as I've done nothing worth mentioning for my last two or three birthdays, but I'm sure I'll feel different when I get my sensible head back on (or maybe not!).
On top of that, I bought the last bits of mum's Christmas present yesterday. I'll explain later...
The one bad thing about being hungover yesterday was that it was a free listing day on Ebay which I really needed to use productively. I was too ill to do anything for most of it, but I remembered a hint I'd seen posted on this site by one of the 10 lists a day people saying that (s)he just typed up the bare minimum of the listing then posted it, then edited it later, so I did that for 13 items last night at 23.00. I need to fill them back in today. I hope it works!
Right, last week was a horribly busy last week, so here's to a bit more sanity this week. Please call me 'Pickle'

Gah, bother and blast...
I've just seen the most recent episode of Spooks and I am mightily miffed about the fact that they have killed off another one of the main characters. I won't say who in case you are a fan who has not yet had the chance to see it, but all I will say is that it was one of my favourites.
Also, friend pregnant with twins has been in labour since 8a.m. yesterday morning! Poor her. I hope it is all over soon. I'm never having babies. Nope, no way, not me. That's just inhuman.
Anyway, was fairly lazy yesterday and didn't quite get round to editing those Ebay items and was a work today so it didn't really get done either. Have spent two nights avoiding a buzzy insect in my room  by sleeping in another (big girl!) and I'm in work tomorrow and Friday as well, so need to get it done tonight, only it's late and I'm tired...but that's still not a good enough reason not to get it done. I think I'm partially scared at writing up the description of the dead old laptop I'm selling which will be complicated. Had better get on with it, anyway. Can't imagine getting it all done tonight, but had better get half done anyway.
Wish me luck (but not as much as my pregnant friend!)

Ok, quick update...it's been busy lately.
Have sold two items on Ebay for £53.30 but I need to advertise and sell more as there's loads to get rid of and I need the space in my tiny room!
Have been paid and have only spent £2.99 (sweet treat during bad day at work) apart from bills.
On the up side, I've just realised that I can't remember the last time I bought petrol, but that it might be a month ago.
On the down side, I have to pay my car tax and a fee for having my photo updated on my driving licence at the end of this month: WHAT a cheek! They are the ones who want the update, why should I have to pay them for it?!
Other nice news: I have two social engagements this week. And I plan on some baking.
I have still won begger all on online bingo.I need to do some scratchies as well, get advertising for tutoring and mystery shopping.
Ickle steps...
Hope you are all well. Please call me 'Pickle'

New thoughts...
Not sure whether or not to add Ebay earning to savings or pay off CC. Am aware that I'm doing it all the wrong way round in saving when I should be paying it off the CC), but part of me is telling me that it will be better to make up the £1000 I will have to pay off my overdraft in January first so that I don't accumulate more interest-gathering debt, but I think that the main reason is so that I feel as though I have a safety net to fall back on if things get rocky with my mum again. That feeling is priceless.
Also, not I look at it, I'm currently at £591.52 in my savings, which means that I need to earn another £75.14 to be on target, so perhaps that whole thought process is jumping the gun a bit! Still, maybe at least I've just reinforced to myself the reason I'm doing things this way round instead of the sensible one as it has been weighing on my mind recently.
Need to update my spending diary as I've just had an expensive few days. Something tells me I might not like the figures that come out the other side... :mad:Please call me 'Pickle'
