(And yes, it is a bit wierd, but I've had a week of nice wierdness in that respect, so it's all good by this point! :rotfl:
It was easy enough meeting you as we had PM'd each other real names previously, but when I went to the Edinburgh Meet last year it was hard introducing myself as FresianDoesn't help that IRL I have an unusual name so people would forget it and just call me Fresian :rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl: To be fair, there were points when I *nearly* called you Fresian, and when I met the guys at the weekend I would have quite happily called them by their screen names a bit as well, if I hadn't thought that they would have thought it bizarre. Ah well, it's only natural given that we know each other by those monikers.
So long as nobody goes 'oh yes, you look like a pickle: short, round and bitter', I'm good! :rotfl:Please call me 'Pickle'

Pretty tired here at Pickle Towers: Picklemum has the flu and is has been really pretty ill these past three days.
She looks a bit better tonight, thankfully, so I'm hoping she will wake up a bit more full of beans tomorrow.
Went into town tonight to go to a talk with a friend of mine from my MA. I haven't seen her in ages (2-3 years), so it was lovely to see one another again. I embarassed myself horribly by forgetting my purse and DF had to pay for everything (cheque's in the post!).The talk was interesting, and made me think about trying to put some of my qualifications into action to earn me some cash (self-evident, I know, but I've always felt that I'm not good enough).
Other than that, busy day cleaning house from top to bottom. Bought BF's Christmas present yesterday, invested in a pair of cool spotty wellies that I've barely had off me the day before (£13.88 - bargain!), know I need a finance overhaul, am on holiday for NINETEEN DAYS, and have found out that a new musical instrument I asked my brother to buy me for my birthday/Christmas present is triple the price that I thought it was , and am debating getting it as it would be like playing a Stradavarius if I played the violin, but it's still a scary amount of money, and would mean that I would be married to music as I could not invest that kind of music and not become amazing as it's just a scary amount of cash to spend on something so small (I don't play a big instrument). Am bricking it. (My music teacher reckons I should go for it as I'm already good enough, and I rate her opinion, but still, it's nearly £300 when you can buy a cheap one for a sixtieth of the price!)
This needs thinking about, as do all money matters. Still have a few Christmas presents to buy, but most of it is done. Feel like I still need a life overhaul.
C'est la vie, as they say. Please call me 'Pickle'

Pickle - I must qualify that I have only been reading diaries since May and I flit about rather than keeping up to date. Hence I had picked up on your nail / complementary studies (since I do reflexology) and working hard, but had completely missed anything about language skills.
And your posts of 'pickledom' just make me smile, especially the ones on canabalism!! I would never have expected you to look small, round and vinegary...
All I was worried about was whether you would remember me as the 'mad woman' who brought cake :rotfl:
Happy Friday - hope you managed some sleep (1.15am naughty Pickle)

Thanks Paf! Mum's a bit better, but it seems to be a pretty bad strain. Still, she's getting there.
Went out ice-skating with friends, and then for drinks. Spent just under £50 (of which £20 was a taxi). Good times, bad bill. Can't do that again. Am really annoyed at how much I spent cos I have other things I need.
(Note to self: alcohol on a Saturday night is expensive!)

Just catching up on the thread! Hope your mum feels better soon, it seems to be making the rounds in the igloo down here! I'm so jealous that you got to meet some of the lovely ladies from the forum! I have a sneaking suspicion that there are a few people who live near me on the forum but I'm too chicken to come out and ask them!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
