Just catching up on the thread! Hope your mum feels better soon, it seems to be making the rounds in the igloo down here!

Hehe! And there was me thinking I was the only person to take on the persona of her username! :rotfl: (Hope you are all well soon.)
I'm so jealous that you got to meet some of the lovely ladies from the forum! I have a sneaking suspicion that there are a few people who live near me on the forum but I'm too chicken to come out and ask them!

Well, one wasn't a native but was visiting, so it was a rare treat, and the others were all attending Memory Girl's workshop, else I wouldn't have had the guts either. However, all the people I met were just as nice in real life as they appear on the forum, which was great. :T

Have some updates that I will make in a bit when I've rescued my dinner (pizza) from the oven. How healthy!

    Semi-virtuous day today:

Returned a cookery book I bought and realised I don't need or particularly want as it's not quite as good as it says on the tin: £13 refunded (although buying it at the time got me an extra discount on the overall purchase, so technically I'm quids in, even though that wasn't the original intention).

Am returning a set of pens I paid £5.99 for tomorrow as I'm being naughty and returning them as I got a much better deal elsewhere :o, but needs must.

Am also returning some boots I bought for Best Friend's Christmas present as they don't fit, as well as a pair I impulse-purchased for myself at the same time as, funnily enough, they don't fit, even though they did the day I tried them on in the shop. (?!?) That's good for me (£32.88 refund for each pair), but means I have to try to find BF another Christmas present. Drat!

Have also been extremely good and returned a pair of boots I had home from work for a think about as I wouldn't really have too much that went with them (I got overexcited cos they fit, which is still a rarity in the boot department!).

    Cor, I sound like I've gone a bit mad lately, don't I?

In my defence, the pens were for Memory Girl style mindmapping (on her recommendation, might I add!), and I am going to feel rich once all this money hits my account/card. I'm going to try to secrete the money from the pair of boots I would have kept to go towards my musical instrument, as if they had fitted I would have had to have done without it anyway, so it's just more money to the music fund. :) (I'm well aware that cos it's Christmas I might have to transfer it back, but it will look nice just for the moment anyway!)

Also, I ordered the instrument! :D   So now, every penny has to go towards paying for that. Then I realised that I'm supposed to be enrolling for the sports massage course in January, and still saving!

Anyone know a good bank worth robbing? :rotfl:

All I was worried about was whether you would remember me as the 'mad woman' who brought cake :rotfl:

Happy Friday - hope you managed some sleep (1.15am naughty Pickle ;))

Not much, really...but it's my own fault. I had a very late one last night as well. I need to remind my body clock that night is meant for sleep.

And I definitely don't remember a mad woman who brought cake. There was a nice one, however, who brought most excellent cake, and she kindly gave my the recipe afterwards. Double winner! :T

As for languages, I have a degree in French and a Masters in translating and interpreting the stuff, hence the reference to languages.

Hope you are well, and next time you pop by I will have tea and cake ready. And if you call late on a Friday or Saturday, possibly a glass of wine and/or a G&T! ;)

£5.99 refund obtained for the pens, which has duly gone into the Musical Instrument Fund (hereon known as 'MIF'). I hope I don't have to take it out later.

What else? Spent £3.48 on special offers on Coke, plus £1 on two advent calenders for PickleBrother and me as we have so far been deprived this year. (Us too old for such childishness? Never! :p)

I also returned some books to the library and got 3 more I had ordered out. Since I did my inventory on the 'No More Buying Books...' thread, I have made it my intention to work my way through the ones I own first, so apart from returning them, it should be my last visit back there for a good while. (Pity, nice librarians have we.)

And I NEED TO GO TO BED! What am I doing up at this hour? This is mad!

P.S. Laptop is being a bit naughty so if I disappear for a while, you know why!

Blimey Pickle, surely there must be an income stream in those languages for the MIF!!! Should your instrument be a melodian, I have one going spare in a cupboard somewhere :j

My top tips for making myself go to bed
    - a couple of hours before I intend to go, I put the laptop on battery. When it dies it is beddy bo bo time ;)
    - I have found that if I am on here after midnight, I wake up and don't get to bed for ages. Really nothing is gonna happen that is earth shattering overnight, so you may as well go to bed
    - I am far too old to be doing this on a 'school night'. Do it when you have your weekend :D This is not sad, it is taking yourself by the hand and being kind to yourself.
    - Go to the nearest co-op pharmacy and buy a microwave beanie animal. They are lovely to cuddle and are half price (£6 not £12)

... here endeth the lesson AMEN :rotfl::rotfl:

Part of me needs to get it sorted as there is, but I kind of have had my name out there and as per usual with languages it seems that everyone wants to speak them, and nobody wants to pay for them. *Rolls eyes*

Bless you, Northernlas, but it is not. But that's a very, very kind offer. Thank you! :)

Given how poorly my laptop battery is at the minute, that would be all of five seconds! :rotfl: Even the charger is not working properly as there is a problem connecting it. :(

I've already got a lovely blue teddy bear, but he's a bit big for the microwave, to be honest. I might have to dig out my electric blanket and bind his limbs together to fit him in. It seems very mean to a nice teddy, though: it's bad enough putting him in the mocrowave!

Yes miss. Sorry miss. I'll go to bed early tonight miss. *Sniff, sniff* :rotfl:
