Boo! I'm back. And thanks guys! :)

And calm down, Reddie - to the Republic I go. Perhaps we shall meet up some other time. ;)

Had a nice weekend with my friend and her hubbie. We did a bit of shopping (naughty Pickle! :o Bought a kitchen implement at a bargainous price and a book, also at a bargainous price, despite saying I would buy no more until I'd read that ones I already had :o:o), and did a bit of sightseeing. I got to point and click my camera a lot, and 'ooh' at pretty buildings today. :)

Have a million and one things to do tomorrrow so I had best be off to bedfordshire, so take care if I'm not around for the next week or so. *Waves at everyone*

    :snow_grin Brr! Chilly chilly! :snow_grin

Am only just back from Ireland. A day late. Nothing to do with the snow, of course...;)

Will tell you all about it tomorrow.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeell, the wedding itself was lovely, however, not without hiccups:
    1. It snowed again and Picklemum's car wasn't built for the snow, so we had to abandon our car halfway up the hill to the Church, trudging the rest of the way through several inches of snow, being snowed on from above as well.
    2. The bride was nearly TWO HOURS late (a combination of her being herself, and said weather). :rotfl:
    3. Picklemum and I had to get lift to and from wedding reception the following day as a result.
    4. The rest of it was stunning: party was at a 13th century, 5* castle with a Michelin starred chef, top notch sommelier and the snow making it look like a Christmas card. Bliss!
*Returns to earth with a bump*

However, journey on way back was seriously treacherous cos of the country roads and a skiddy car, but we made it, even though we returned a day late to make sure we didn't die en route. But I did buy a crazy amazing fur jacket on my travels, and some cheap but cute piggy welly socks for my luvverly wellies. Oink oink!

Was back in work today. It took all of about 20 mins and being messed around to make me realise I need to...well, you know the theme by now!

On the up side, I think I've got all my shopping done, although I haven't written a single card.

In sadder news, I'm going to the funeral of a very dear family friend tomorrow. She was only young and leaves two young sons behind her, so it is awful to think of her being buried at this time of the year.

Also, I've had the chance to examine my payslip/bank account since I got back and work haven't taken any of the overpayed money back     , and I've managed to stash the rest of the money for the musical instrument, so the fund is full :j, baring exchange rate fluctuations, so perhaps I should add a little more so that I don't end up having a nasty surprise when the time comes to pay.

I have also been naughty 'investing' in one of those Soap & Glory box sets that all the girls on the 'No Buying More Toiletries' thread have been whittering about. :o I may still take it back, I feel so bad, despite it being £60 worth for £25. However, if I feel so bad, it could be a good counterbalance to stop me going mad in the sales after Christmas as I'll already have a piqued sense of guilt!

I really need to have a good think about my finances for the new year as I now have no savings at all, really, although I have been good for saving for things I've needed this year (courses, materials for courses, musical instruments etc.), but I still need to develop a 'rainy day' mentality. (Or a snowy one. In fact, any inclement weather condition would do.)
