  • I thought as you were being so supportive of me I should find your diary and support you too!!

You sound very much like me (apart from me being 10 years older with two kids!) I don't have many friends (like you through choice - I let people use me too easily) just a few very close ones, all my family are skint or live far away!

I struggle the most with the food shopping - I can't plan but it's getting easier, the weekly/10 day plan is working better for me cos I don't need to make the decision of what we are eating until the evening before - I hate thinking "Ooooh, next Tuesday we're having curry" by the time Tuesday got here I wouldn't want the bloomin curry! :D Spend wise my food shopping so far this month isn't too bad - it could have been better cos we have been using up stuff from the cupboards - but in just 10 days I made 8 visits to shops, sometimes more than once in a day (one of those cos was the first shop didnt have semi skimed milk so I had to go elsewhere) but 8 visits is far too many  - my spending diary is highlighting my weak areas and food shopping is definately more controllable!

    See I'm waffling again!!! x
I believe that I have the strength to make my dreams come true

  • Good for you September on the Sky thing, it just shows you what you can achieve. All these things may only be a few pounds here and there but they certainly mount up!:j

I am right in thinking that it is MBNA that you have opted out from? I have a card with them that I haven't used in well over a year but my payments have rocketed from around £100 per month to £180. I also paid over the minimum for several months so have actually paid £2,600 in 12 months but the balance has only come down by £600:mad:

Hope that you have a good weekend:D
  • Hi Wannabedebtfree!

Thanks for finding my diary and popping in!

Thats what Im like with the meal plan - I'd tried it before in the past and just failed as I just didn't fancy that particular thing on that day!! So Im definatly gonna try out your weekly/10 day one! Its a great tip :T ...dont know why I never thought of it myself?!?! :rotfl:

Im gonna be much more on form this week - I feel ive been lagging  and waffling lately! :D

    Keep reading :money:

  • Ellieseleven...

It is MBNA yeah, Well the virgin credit card branch of it anyway! (my new found hatred for richard branson)

They are terrible. I shouldve never got tempted by their balance transfer offer that whacked up my interest as soon as i made a late payment (even though only by a day).

Had a good weekend thanks - apart from the sniffles :(
