    OK dilemma time.

Using my birthday money (that i'm getting early on request bday 24th sept) to pay into my account I could get into credit on my current account

Only by £9.41 but still every little helps.

Im thinking though that i'd end up going back into it with still 2 and a bit weeks to go till payday (also get paid on my bday this month) and not enough bread/milk/loo rolls etc in the house to last that long..

    The dilemma is though........................

If I pay it in, great im in credit. But also, might end up feeling pretty depressed on my birthday.

Not got that many friends (sounds sad but its by choice) and the one that has got me a present has already given it to me and ive already opened it (had some edible stuff in that needed eating or wouldve gone to waste) so thats that one gone.

Bday money is off fiance and mum both of whom are just as broke as I. This all adds up to £70.

Thats pretty much it, the only ppl who will give me presents. Nana's are skint or live far away and cant get presents to me for my birthday. So i know im sounding all depressing but i just cant help thinking how !!!! it is.

fiance working nights on my bday and am either going to go round mums for dinner, which i dont really want to do, or my friend is coming round, which sounds better to me. oh and im working all day and have got to shell out on cakes for the whole office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stupid outdated tradition.

    So the question is,

do i pay in the £70 and be temporarily in credit

    or

keep the £70 cash and use it to enjoy myself and or buy nice pressies........................ which btw leaves me almost £70 o/drawn :(

  • If you can afford to not put the 70 into your account I would treat yourself to something nice. Or why dont you do half for yourself and half for your account ?
  • Well id just feel bad still being overdrawn but i dont know.... want to clear my debt but also want to be happy?

Just cant make a decision. Maybe 50/50 might be best as you said...

  • I would be yeah....... and trying EVEN harder to stay out of it. x

I think you should get yourself something - it will cheer you up, and you can tell us about it!
I try not to get money for my birthday or xmas, as I won't spend it on fun things - it always gets spent on bills or paying off debts. My family has no idea how much debt we are in though.
I'm sure your mum and finance would rather you got something for yourself with it?

    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • Only my fiance knows the full extent of my debt!

They would prefer me to get something nice, bless them. I think thats what I'll do.

Like it was said, my overdraft wont be very high still... and will be gone next month when i can be SUPER good to stay out of it.

    :T

Getting a bit more excited now ;)

    hi

i think you should def have something for you from the money its all good and well sorting out debts and paying things off but you do need to have a little bit of fun and happiness along the way. i think sometimes you need the occasional treat otherwise you lose the way and dont see the point of every penny being used for the debt.

your very organised and know where you are heading with paying things off so i dont think a little bit just for you will make you fall off the wagon.
