Been offline for an hour and I have been a Busy Fresian....

    • Some dishes done
    • Plans made for tomorrow night (Friends coming round for roast dinner, cake and movies. Sod New Year!)
    • Three airers worth of washing taken down and folder
    • One airers worth of washing hung up
    • Load of washing put in machine ready for tomorrow
    • Path cleared from door of spare room to back of spare room :j
    • Wrapping paper hidden away for next Christmas
    • Mini S&G products I'm unlikely to use from Hatbox Of Wonder hidden away for Mr F's sister's pampering Christmas hamper :A
    • Box of Ebay started - all my brown paper, bubble wrap, envelopes etc organised and ready to go when I can face it
    • All the sh*te that doesn't belong in the living room has been returned to its rightful place
    • Filled one cat full of catnip and played with him for a while. He's sleeping it off on the sheepskin rug :D
    • Kitchen/living room bins emptied
Now about to start updating new diary with plans and money things. It's only going to be my £8k challenge diary (It's a beautiful one from WH Smith that I bought with a voucher work gave me!) so I'm thinking that I note down all my spends in it and I'm also thinking about giving myself a list of things to do for each month which will up my income. This could be decluttering one room/cupboard/bookcase. Selling XX amount of things on Ebay/Amazon. Checking home insurance quotes etc. Lots of things you always mean to do but don't. I'm going to combine it with my general aims to declutter as well. I might not make any money from taking things to be recycled or putting them on Freecycle, but this will declutter the house and make more space for tidiness :D

PS....thanks to KissJenn for unexpectedly treating me to lunch today. It was very kind of you and I had a lovely time (And lovely food!)

Ooh, I'm an ungrateful wench for not mentioning this! nono.gif

The lovely Palema has used her Live Card to get me 2 for 1 tickets for the Sound Of Music at our local theatre, meaning I can take my best friend out for the night for £40 instead of paying £40 per ticket :D

    Thank you kind lady

  • ooh, another person who has a cat that likes catnip......Mr Lurker says he's never seen a cat react to it like mine did....current kitty not bothered by it....i think maybe you have to introduce it to them as kittens.....

as always F_F, you are a complete inspiration, never seeming to take your eye off your goal, not even during silly season.

Thank you for your help advice & support this year - as someone esle said (Floozie methinks), I wish I knew you in the real world!

Wishing you good health & happiness for 2010

Hmmm....we'll know that for sure once all the impulse buys are returned to the shops from the sales and the final credit card bill is in :D

Also, we don't get out of the Burgh much, but anyone who finds themselves in Edinburgh for work etc is more than welcome to drop me a PM, I'll happily meet up with DFWs I know for coffee/cake. Any excuse for a cake :D

Final load of washing of 2009 is in the machine and will be hung up shortly :j (I am not perfect, the washing basket is still overflowing so I suppose that should have read "I'm not doing any more washing in 2009!)

Some dishes are soaking, hopefully I'll have time to do them before I go to work. I slept really badly for some reason and my brain feels like it's moving through treacle...

    Plans for today

    1. Survive work
    2. Charge mobile at work
    3. Update CV so it's ready to be sent out to agencies in the New Year
    4. Clean bathroom (Preferred method is to get Mr Fresian to do it, but he's quite allergic to bleach, so we'll see how that goes!)
    5. Start looking through recipe books for ideas

    January Plans

As I am now in possession of a Shiny Beautiful Diary which I'll be using for the 8k challenge, I'm also going to use it to challenge myself to do more. Each month I'm going to set myself 5 household tasks, small ones, and hopefully complete them. This will help me to feel like I'm taking control! So, January plans are:

    1. Declutter kitchen cupboards. This is a big one. Since I have become (slightly) more OS, I have been receiving recipe books, kitchen implements and baking things from people. I have NOWHERE to put things :D I have done two of the cupboards, and really need to go through the rest. I'm also thinking of throwing out our microwave as I rarely use it. I might have to speak to Mr Fresian about that...

    2. Join Freecycle. I did this ages ago but can't seem to reset my password. New email account to be created and Freecycling to begin! I have lots of things which are too bulky to Ebay and not worth a huge amount, I would rather be rid. So, small step = set up Freecycle account, big step = declutter house!

    3. Find 10 things to list on Ebay, put on Turbolister and prepare for free listing day. Whenever there are free listing days I seem to lose my mojo for Ebay. This way I will just have to press "upload" :D Setting the target at 10 items seems to make it feel more achievable.

    4. Tidy jackets. We don't have anywhere to hang jackets in my wee flat, so they seem to hang from the side of every door handle. Plan is to put them in the wardrobe in the spare room and look to Ebay/charity shop them later in the year.

    5. Inventory toiletries. I suspect that I have enough toiletries to see me through until Doomsday. I'm going to list them all and then see how long I should realistically be able to go without buying any more.

    January Challenge

Buy no meat in the supermarket unless it's vastly reduced (Much less than half price) This will use up the excess gubbins in the freezer and save money for a Costco trip in February.

  • Well done on the Ebay planning, I often get the email about free listing and then rush round looking for stuff.
You are just so organised. Read about your flylady stint on hypno's diary and looked around my house and shuddered! I really should keep on top of it. Biggish house for 2 of us, but distinct lack of storage space except my lovely new dresser .
We have a system round here were the council collect bulky furniture and if its any good, they tart it up and sell it in a shop so recycled not freecycled and thats were I got it from. They do the same with old but working white goods and thats were I am going to look for a chest freezer in the new year. Would be able to do far more batch cooking if I had somewhere to put it! DS has 'organised' existing freezer for me, so have loads in it at the moment, so should be able to go a while without shopping. Also have bits of cooked meat that I couldn't bear to throw away, but weren't enough for a meal, so can make something out of them - maybe??
Have a great debtbusting New Year!
Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

No problem!! Might as well get the full use of the live car with the 2 for 1 tickets :D Saved the money I spent out on it already so any tickets bought now with savings are a major bonus.

    Happy Hogmanay :)
