No the Bedstead came from an online shop, can't for the life of me remember the name but no not from them, but it is a good solid bed stead, infact it is probably the best one we have ever had, so I was a bit dissapointed when he said in his report it was because of the bed stead we were having problems.

Not all mattresses are suitable for slatted bases. I would double check to see what they say you mattress is suitable for.0 -
Hi Tim
Thanks for that I have just sent a email to the lady who I dealt with before asking the question, what is a suitable bed stead for this mattress? I said I needed to know this before I submitted the issue to trading standards.
See what happens, I will let you know.
Thanks again.

It would have been better to check with any literature that was either displayed in the shop, on the web site, or given to you directly. As she can say what she wants now.0 -
Hi,
We have received this response from Sleepmasters:
“Hi, my name is Jonathan and I’m contacting you from Sleepmasters Customer Services. I’m so sorry for the delay in response and hope you don’t mind me responding to you. I’ve read your post on this thread and I’m really sorry to see that you’re so disappointed with your experience. I’d love the chance to look into your complaint to see if there’s anything I can do to rectify the situation.
Just to give you a couple of pointers on the issues you’ve raised:
- Ecomaster are entirely independent, we have no contract with them and they aren’t paid according to results. It varies week by week, but on average they deem about half the beds they inspect for us to have a manufacturing fault.
- Tim Deegan was right in saying that not all mattresses are suitable for bedsteads, but we don’t sell a mattress unless it is compatible with any of our bedsteads. The problems can arise when the slats on the bedstead are either too far apart or too narrow.
- He was also right in pointing out that Breasley aren’t part of our group – but we source our beds and mattresses from a range of suppliers across the UK, and Breasley is one of them. Your mattress could well be made by Breasley.
If you drop us an email to enquiries@Sleepmasters.co.uk, quoting MSE and your invoice number in the subject field, I’ll ensure that someone looks into your situation and you get a reply as a priority. It would be great if you could identify yourself as pfg181 in the email too."0 -

It's good that you have now been pressured into taking action to sort out peoples problems, but what about all the customers who don't quote MSE? Are you going to continue trating them just as badly?0 -

It was actually me who said that sensaform mattresses do contain memory foam, after someone else had said that they don't.
I'm just telling what I have seen in the threads. I'm not interested in an argument. You can either listen to what I say, or ignore it. The choice is yours.
I bought sensaform mattress last sept from sleepmasters, after only 6 days a fault appeared namely a large lump appeared inthe center of the bed and ran full length due to this we have space of single bed at either side to sleep in and cannot roll over .sleepmasters say it is due to settlement and we are not using the bed correctly.we have had 3 inspections from FIRA(allegedly independant)each time they agreed with sleepmasters.been to consumer direct they sent me to trading standards who said unless i can get inspector to agree with me I do not have a hope this has took 12 months back and forword i have given up on a cheap firm with cheap attitude and got your money tough.i am buying a new bed from house of frazer a proper firm with customer satifaction in mind and sending other bed to the tip wre sleppmasters should be0 -

I wouldn't buy from House of Frazer either. They are still a big company with share holders, so theywill be more interested in sales than customer satisfaction (maybe not as bad as Sleepmasters though). You would be better off staying well away from big brands and big retailers, and instead buying on line from a seller with a good returns policy. That way you will get far better quality for your money.0 -
Hi
Sleepmasters has asked us to post a statement on its behalf.
“Hi Chris,
I’m sorry to hear you don’t feel you’ve been treated fairly. Of course Sleepmasters don’t want any of our customers to have a bed that is faulty and if a bed is faulty, we always replace or refund it.
Just to clarify, FIRA (the Furniture Industry Research Association) are truly independent. The body was formed 60 years ago and provides a wide range of independent expert services that are not only dedicated to the furniture supply chains, but also to furniture consumers. FIRA offer a specialist independent service for dispute resolution and fault detection. You can find out more information on their website https://www.fira.co.uk.”Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Hi there,
We are having an issue with our sleepmasters chic mattress in that it Is far too hard and not as comfty as the sample we tried out in store.
Sleepmasters customer service have told us it will take three months to settle but we can't sleep on it!
After a lot of arguing they agreed to give us a like for like swap and give us another chic for free. Even though they themselves think it isn't a defect.
To get the panache instead they want to charge us 10%.
Anyway I just wondered if anyone else has had a problem with the chic.
Any other advice would be great too.
Thanks
Lou0 -
Hi Lou,
I bought a Sleepmasters Chic mattress and it is so hard that I haven't slept properly since it came on Monday (It's now Friday and I haven't done anything today as I'm so spaced out from lack of sleep. It's like having a newborn baby... I used to sleep from the moment my head touched the pillow on my old mattress but hardly sleep at all at the moment.)
We went back to the shop on Tuesday morning and were told it is much harder as it hasn't been broken in in effect and it could take three months to settle down.
So much for memory foam being comfortable. It's like being on a carpet on the floor.
What has happened to you?
