Haven't read the thread yet but does anyone know when the notice period starts re redundancy - is it when you are first told you will be made redundant or after the third consultation?

Sorry this is not related to flying!

Depends on the wording. Consultation is telling you that you may be made redundant. Redundancy (and issue of notice) is when they tell you that you will personally definitely be going and when. Generally when they tell you you are redundant they will say I am therefore issuing you with formal notice. If they haven't said it or written it then you arguably haven't been given notice.

Veg soup - with my own stock is awful whatever I try so I use marigold veg stock instead. I always sweat the veg for ten minutes which supposedly makes a lot of difference, and I blend cos I dont like lumps. Had veg soup tonight made with carrots, couple of mushrooms, onion, celery, potatoes (to thicken) and some butternut squash. Very nice it was too.

Lots more done in the kitchen and the pantry tidied out so on track for in laws visit at the w/end. Must do HHI once the boys have gone to bed.

Incidentally I am running Firefox and Amazon crashes...anyone else have problems?

I run Firefox and have no problems with Amazon....having said that it does have a 'funny five minutes' with various other websites from time to time. Perhaps it's Amazon's turn today?

Also, I haven't seen anywhere on their website about using new packaging when selling through Amazon - I tend to use what I have around to be honest and I've not had any complaints.

A quick in and out. The day has been like the curate's egg - good in parts. The good bit is that, for once, a council bigwig has been in touch and wants to come and see me rather than me having to fight for an appointment to see them :D All to do with the stuff I was talking about the other week involving buses. He is coming to my house tomorrow afternoon.

Bad bit is that DD has split up with her bloke. It was of her making. After his non-appearance yesterday she'd had enough but she is very angry and half broken hearted (but not completely fortunately!) so there are tears and anger and general depression. She apologised that she may be living here longer than originally thought. But that's fine - as long as DS and DiL move into their flat as quickly as possible!

So I better go make something soothing with chicken for dinner..

  • Oh Soappie, sorry to hear about your DD. I'm sure it will all work out for her!

I took the fishing set back and was told I couldn't bring it back if it had been used..."But it is no good" I said , adding that super SOGA phrase "not fit for purpose" (like I thought it would be at £14.99) so 'just this once' :rolleyes:I have a refund.;) So I didn't need to quote chapter and verse from SOGA or threaten them with Trading Standards (or as they are known in my house, Karen LOL - my mate!)

And you can add "or of satisfactory quality" to that.
