Well done you on your new job and DD on her exam success. Are you celebrating tonight?
We've actually known for a while. DD's results came out at the beginning of Aug. I've known about the job for nearly 2 weeks. I just forgot to say. Doh! What a memory

Haven't read the thread yet but does anyone know when the notice period starts re redundancy - is it when you are first told you will be made redundant or after the third consultation?
Sorry this is not related to flying!

I'd normally ask mum to send stuff but she's not very well just now.
I will look in town tomorrow (have to nip in anyway to pay in a cheque- refund from holiday from hell!), and see if there is anything.....if not I may well take you up on that offer.
Consider the main aim of my flying over the next few days to get DS on good terms with his potty!

Just to add my 2 cents Poohbear.... I've cancelled mine too, and they were nothing like as expensive as yours. At the end of the day needs must. You've been incredibly generous by donating regularly thus far. :T It's not obligatory, and, you've got other things to pay for now. Cancel it, you can always reinstate it at a later point.MMSSB Club Founder Member

Got my sister coming over today - hope she's in a good mood...She wasn't. usually she spends the time being a bit catty and overly critical of many things I do (parenting style, some decisions I made in the past, etc, etc) Yep, about par for the course. I'm so angry with her that I'm probably twanging with the tension of it.. Can't be doing with it to be honest and if she keeps on she won't be coming over so often!
But....before she comes I'll have a go at the following:
Twinkly Tuesday ~ Kitchen of Grot and Diming Room of Gloom
Level One
Declutter and mop/vacuum the floors
[STRIKE]Find and wipe the worksurfaces[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Wipe small appliances and replace.. do one thoroughly.. descale or decrumb or degunge![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe a shelf or window sill[/STRIKE]

And I've got the following to do too:
[STRIKE]New tax disc in the car[/STRIKE]
Turn up DDs school trousers one leg done, one to do.
[STRIKE]Get the good pushchair in from the car ready for the school run tomorrow[/STRIKE]
Iron in name tags
[STRIKE]Sort out a bag for gym kit[/STRIKE]
Knit a little more of DSs cardigan - he needs more for the winter.
I'm also doing a time and motion study on myself  which seems to be taking a bit more time than I'd like! But wasn't too bad...only 4 more days to go!
Hope you all have a good day.

I've also got to get a gym bag packed just in case she has gym tomorrow (can't see it myself, but better send it just in case).
I'm going to have a very big glass of wine tonight. Can't believe the nerve of my sister. Still, OH will be home in a while, I'll bend his ear about it....
Haven't really had time to catch up on the thread, but wanted to send hugs to those who need them and kicks up the backside to anyone who has requested one (!!).
Oh yes, and we had a really good thunderstorm about 2 hours ago. Was forewarned by OH (who works 40 miles east of here), so managed to get the washing in before the heavens opened....
Have a good evening all.
Take care

I did log on to catch up then we had a storm so I shut down and unplugged.
I have just spent half an hour watching my very own water feature...I am halfway down a hill so I get run off from gardens higher up - because about a foot down we have clay so it doesn't take much to fill the water table up. Anyhoo sionce BIL did my garden it runs down my path onto my patio and down a drain
noisily
not sure about the new packaging (and I DID read the T&Cs must've missed that bit) but got cardboard cases in Wilkos for 38p each. Have posted DS game - think I had it on at £13.50 so DS will be well chuffed. P&P virtually covered all cost so just a fewpence and then Amazon's cut to come off.
I took the fishing set back and was told I couldn't bring it back if it had been used..."But it is no good" I said , adding that super SOGA phrase "not fit for purpose" (like I thought it would be at £14.99) so 'just this once' :rolleyes:I have a refund.;) So I didn't need to quote chapter and verse from SOGA or threaten them with Trading Standards (or as they are known in my house, Karen LOL - my mate!)
I have washed pots...***flaps frantically***
Incidentally I am running Firefox and Amazon crashes...anyone else have problems?
Oh and Poohbear - cancel them...yes it's hard but we're all feeling the pinch. I have one for £2.00 per month and that's my limit...but I used to have one before, when I was working pre-kids. I cancelled that when I stopped working because I just couldn't afford it. Worry not - you come first!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
