You haven't lived until you've had a chip buttie.
Best chip butties are with "real " butter, especially when the chips are so warm they make the butter melt and drip formt he bread lolTOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -

Didn't anyone have my problem of the bread going all holey cos the butter was too hard to spread properly? Could end up a messy job but what with the butter being more in lumps you definitely ended up with it all over your hands/top.
Haven't had proper egg and chips for years as I don't have a frier. The last time I attempted chips using an ordinary pan and oil I over cooked them and didnt' have enough potatoes left to do it again. Plus I think a deep fat frier is a safer bet.
If I had one of those though, I would be eating chips every night.0 -
Sometimes I like boiled eggs with chips as soldiers mmmmm!
I own a deep fat fryer, however, my home made chips get more compliments when done in the oven. I just use large baking potatoes, cut into big thick chips and par boil, then coat in hot oil and bung in the oven for 40 mins. I know its a long wait but they are definitely worth it.Lynzie Lou :dance:0 -

you know what else is good? Egg in a cup? Sure its a scottish thing, but you boil eggs, place them in a cup with a huge amount of butter, salt and pepper and mush up. I soo hope eggs are on offer this week!Lynzie Lou :dance:0
