Ok, so it's Friday night - and I'm dossing about on the sofa waiting for DS to get home from the football match in town. He's gone with a mate who's cousin has a season ticket and couldn't be arsed to go to the match - so a nice little freebie !
Today went quite well.
DS's appointment with the psychologist was really good news. After all the testing she had done, there was no evidence that the accident had left it's mark in terms of his learning/intellect - but she did say she was well aware that he was having some emotional difficulties after the accident. Not a surprise - it was a pretty hefty trauma - and she made him an open-ended offer of further 'talking' sessions should he need/want them. Bless him, he said he wanted to try some of the de-stressing techniques that she had suggested, and for the time being he wants to work his own way through all the 'head' stuff.
I haven't got heaps of stuff done today (despite being off work) - some housework and daily chores, that's all really.
Tomorrow will be different, however. I want to get a huge list of jobs out of the way, so that I can take a trip to the shops on Sunday to get DS some new school trousers (Mum gave me the money to get those), and other bits and pieces (mostly just food). Am planning to stretch my last £40 as far as possible to see me through to payday on the 28th.
Wish me luck !

I've had a rubbish day.
Achieved none of the things that I had planned - even if they were crappy household things in the main.
Spent all afternoon in a face-to-face tussle with my Ex. Stupid of me to agree to meet with him, really --- what did I think was going to be achieved !?
Peace and harmony, and a happy-ever-after ???
I am such a flaming idiot - it's done nothing but highlight all the reasons why we cant live together.
So angry with myself.
Aaarrrrrggghhhh !Aiming to be debt-free, and have my degree, by 50 ! :j0 -

Ok - update on the rubber £40 that I had to last me until payday on 28th.
As I mentioned on the 'what small things' thread - I spent £8 of it on Sunday, leaving £32.
Hmmm....my plan is to nip to the shops on the way home from work tomorrow, and spend as follows:
- cat and dog food (£5)
- general food things to get us to at least next Tuesday (about £20)
That leaves £7 just in case there is some kind of 'issue'
Pocket money for DS on Friday is already put by, so I should make it through.
BUT I have 2 things to post (fleabay sales) - so that's another £1 to spend ........... bum - now £6
Should be alright.
Anyway - really busy at work the last few days, and have got lots of things done that I have been putting off for weeks. Plenty more to get sorted over the next few days, but at least it keeps me out of trouble.
I had a chat with my boss today - and made my case for a pay rise. It didn't feel like I had to push him particularly (strange!) - and he even asked what kind of increase would make a difference ............... BUM ! I should have added a couple of thousand on to the amount I suggested
We'll see if there's any news on that over the next few weeks.
DS wants the laptop, and I have leftover chicken curry to eat, so must get off.
*** Waves to fay***
I haven't forgotten the crafty/seed swap - bear with me !Aiming to be debt-free, and have my degree, by 50 ! :j0 -

:hello:Hello..
Just popped in to say I have subscribed to your diary.. you sound like a lovely person, not weird or boring so you can scrap that idea.. we don't all like socialising etc.. some of us prefer the quieter life... I'm not a single parent.. (does that mean I can't join your group...!) although my OH who works very hard, bless him is not around much... treats our house like a hotel and often forgets my name:rotfl:. So i'm sticking around to see how you get on... big hugs for sad days... but today is a smiley day as its 3 months until christmas....:j.
Happy weekend to you..
:hello:waves at Fay !

Hey there
It's Friday - and the end of a really busy week at work.
So busy that I have had to bring work home to get done in the evenings (including tonight) ! It wont take long to sort it once I get into the groove, so to speak.
And onto the weekend.
Now there's a thing.
Before I went to work this morning, I wrote a big list of things to get done Saturday and Sunday ... nothing very exciting, but just bits and pieces that either have a deadline all of their own, or that I have put off for as long as possible.
** Slaps own hand for procrastinating **
This evening though - I will get the work things done, and then erm..... do 'not very much' in the hope that conserving energy will make me all the more productive in the next two days.
Mum just rang to remind me that she has my bank card (I get her to hold onto it so that I can't get any more cash than is in my budgeted spends) - and she will call over on Monday so that I can use it to buy my monthly ticket bus online .... this saves a whole £2 !!
On the rubber £40 front - I only spent on cat and dog food, £3.69 I think it was, so I'm going to nip out tomorrow and get a few bits of proper food shopping to last until Tuesday if possible. These last few days have been a real mish-mash of leftovers, freezer surprise and cupboard combo !
Hey ho - all in a good cause, and nobody has starved yet.
Checked the CCCS website and still waiting for the September payment to show as having been dished out to creditors --- oh, how I love the 26th of the month onwards.
Right - am off over to the 'small things' thread to add my bits for the day.Aiming to be debt-free, and have my degree, by 50 ! :j0 -

Hey cloverfan - thanks for reading and posting.
Yeh - my DS will be 15 in Jan - and has grown a whole 8 inches in a year. He's 5 ft 9 almost !! Yours sounds about right then.
I've had a bit of rubbish weekend - but plodding on with it ... trying to work through my list of things I've been putting off.
