  • I decided to open my pot today. :) I figured as I'm so poor at the end of the month, I wouldn't have any change to put in anyway! Plus next week is a busy week at work, so not much time for counting!
I took a wild guess the other week that there would be £50 in there... I hacked it open and counted £56.40! So very close! I've decided not to bank it, but just use it to fund my next couple of weeks. :) I look forward to seeing how much everyone else has!
Because it's fun to have money!

    £68.35/£70 July GC

Nearly opening day ...... still very excitied about it :j

Was thinking about how different my life is this year compared to 12 months ago
    - managed to work the whole year without being driven off with depression/stress by bullying person at work (for two years running)
    - decided what I would REALLY like to do career-wise (and it ain't my current job)
    - formulated a potential plan to achieve my ideal job (couldn't have begun to think about that 12 months ago)
    - read some extremely inspirational posts from loads of peeps
    - begun to have the seed of a particular savings target for the end of next year (me and OH need to save about £1500 to cover OU courses) and started to think about how to achieve this (ebay, here we come)

Yup, its deffo a better year for me all round.

And in 12 months time, it could be even better :D

    Roll on pot-opening time
Debts (incl Mortgage) at LBM (24/09/08) £102849  Now £0. DFD 1st July 2019

I can so easily relate to the first half of your post as i am going through something very similar at the moment and i too am looking for a career change but don't know what at the moment. Just got to remain positive and get through this somehow :D

Congratulations on having saved £56.40 flubberyzing!!! :T Not a bad guess you made there. A good idea about keeping it by for whatever during the next couple of weeks. It's a very good saving so well done!

What a positive attitude Marg!!! We all have times when we struggle with life, but if we can face it all in a positive way it helps us through it all and lets us see the future far clearer. Well done you for doing exactly that and looking ahead to far better times! Meanwhile, hang on to those dreams and do your best to realise them! All the very best for a great future and great year in 2010!:D

You too mummytummy! Have a good think about plans for the future, or live life in a positive way until something comes along and points the direction for you to follow. For now, you will get through it all, and don't ever forget......you're NEVER alone on MSE and especially not when you're a SPC member!!! :jWell done on the 4 big ones!!!:T

For me it was 10p in the pot, but I'm happy enough with that for now! Roll on emptying time on Monday!!! :j:j:j

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Well done, that is amazing. Can't wait to open mine and see how much is in there. My aim was £300 so hopefully have a bit more than that as I need to pay it off A&L, the interest on my cc this month was £84 and my minimum payment was £89 so only paying off £5 so this cc bill needs to go ASAP.

  • Not long to go now everyone!! When is everyone opening theirs? I shall do mine Monday morning when DD1 and DD2 are at school and OH is at work and I only have DD3 to watch. Am so excited, really hope I've exceeded my target of £300.

My new pot is sitting waiting patiently.
