  • Hi All
Ive not been around for a while but have been here in spirit. Ive had the big count up today as Im working for the next few days. I was quite impressed since we had a few lean months when DH was made redundant. Everythings ok now though so Ive already resealed the pots for next year.

    £278.00

Feels great to really cut down the christmas bill.

Good luck everyone. I hope youve all done as well as you hope.

My sealed pot challenge went pear shaped this year. I started off well with a HUGE box to fill but had to raid it when I went a bit mad with my credit card and ebay. This was only a few months in and my finances were in meltdown.

I never replenished the pot  so wont be able to join you all in opening it on the 1st. However, I am aiming high for next year and will round up all my loose coins and put them all in the pot on the 1st with the aim of opening the same 1 year later :j

Hi Flat Eric, my finances went into meltdown this year too, so although I've been here in body and spirit, not very many pennies have been going into the pot. Hopefully next year will be better for all of us.:D

On a positive note to the above, today I've been offered the job to an interview that I went to on Weds. I haven't said very much about job seeking as it's got me down from time to time, sending off resumes and then not hearing anything at all, anyway hopefully all that is behind me now and come Monday morning I will be 'an employed person' once more. yey.:T

Plus..... 2 cents in the pot for me today.

    Sue,
Are you sure you're getting excited, it doesn't show at all in your last post :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thank Heavens for that sparky, I'd hate folk to get the wrong impression and view me in the wrong light....whatever that light might be!!

Don't worry Greenbynature, and if it is only half full....so what it's still YOUR savings! Saying that I think we all get fearful of it being less than we're hoping for. Put yourself in the position of it all happening to a child - what you would tell him/her is what you should tell yourself "so what, it's still money saved that wouldn't have otherwise been!" Be glad and proud whatever it is!:D

Marg, you're so right in the way you're viewing it, we should all do the same...at your house OK???!!! Tea and cake for 762 right?? :j:rotfl::rotfl:A piece of cake - yes?! :D You sound like me with alcohol! Good luck with the decs, enjoy it all...I do!! ;)

Wonderful news tiddly widdly, £278.00 is GREAT savings!!! :T I'm thrilled to hear it's come at such a wonderful time for you all!! Of I've done as well as that I'll be well happy, but time'll tell.

Not to worry Flat Eric as it served you well at a time you needed it most which is great!!! :T All very best wishes for 2010!!!

Congratulations on the wonderful job news Kerfuffle!!! :T Now's the time to put the past behind you and look to the future....and your 2010 sealed pot!!! :D 2 cents in the pot is GOOD!!

    All the best TheBees!! :j

Well it ain't long now people so enjoy your Sunday and keep looking for spare cash!!! :grinheart

Sue New friends wishing to join us, please just ask and I'll be with you ASAP.

  • Hello!

I haven't posted on here for most of the year but just wanted to give you an update....

I set up 3 pots and they are all around 3/4 full. I would really like to keep going until they are completely full before I open them. Is this breaking the rules? If so, I'll open on Tuesday!!
