If you feel that you are sensitive then an internet forum where people are entitled to post their honest opinions in response to your questions may not be the right place for you. Otherwise any time you post something you'll probably end up with the majority of the posts and posters on ignore and as a result miss something important or useful to you, simply because you couldn't cope with any negative comments.

It was a small piece of wood. Get over it. When I was little I found a piece of metal in some kind of chicken product. Mum contacted the manufacturers to let them know and she received a token for a free one of the product, and that was the end of it.

As for the person who posted that people deserve to die? I'm shocked at that poster's pathetic, childish attitude.

Edit: if you didn't want compensation and would never take anyone to court why did you mention taking the matter further?

Edit 2: we often go to GBK (with the vouchers) and all their burgers are secured with a cocktail stick, I would have thought that this would be usual, especially with takeaway, to stop the burger falling apart. Also, many restaurants in the USA use cocktail sticks to prevent their burgers from falling over, things falling out etc and that's the most litigious country in the world, if they don't have a problem then...

opinions are good, thats is what i want, but out right rudness doesnt need to be tolerated atall, and im not on the wrong site, the people that feel they have the right to be rude are on the wrong site.

i asked if it there policy to hold the burgers together with sticks, and according to the head office it isnt, just the club sandwhich which i didnt have. but there, this doesnt seem to be about the original issue anymore, and yes i did block 1 user from commenting, as the comments were just as rude as the one you mentioned about deserving to die. i dont need that kind of advice.

maybe I am bit confuddled - but if I got a cocktail stick in my burger and management claim they dont use them in burgers - then I would want an assurance that staff were trained properly and an offer of a free meal - which i would turn down as I would never ever eat there again. maybe a tradings standards issue? perhaps the kitchens arent organised properly?

kaj70 - I have noticed that people are complaining like you of abuse - I am fairly new to this site - but also noticed this. am not sure what to do about it . have also been on other threads and noticed certain people pop up and yes abuse posters - I know this site isnt moderated - but its seems to be gettin beyond a joke . what can we do?

thank you very much, im just to sensitive and take it to heart, i will just not look at what they write, as i know it will just upset me.

You said yourself that you are too sensitive. Unfortunately when you come on to an internet forum there are different people posting, with differing experiences and opinions on what is rude. Really I think all you want is "opinions" that are what you want to hear, rather than actual honest opinions from a variety of people.

thankyou, exactly my point, they said that they dont use them, but only in a club sandwhich, i had a vegetarian burger, and it was in the very middle, totally buried in the middle of the burger, whatever anyone thinks it shouldnt have happend, i was offered a burger, but who would want another burger!!!! would writing to head office be worth while, although i have already spoke over the phone, and i was offered the burger and he said im very sorry! sometimes a letter caries more weight, i dont know what im expecting, im just upset about it, and i think when they offered me the burger, not even a refund, it wound me up a bit.
  • Then write and ask for a refund.

erm, with all respect, i dont deserve to die, or have to grow up or even get a life, just because i have posted on a forum, and used it in the manner it is meant to be, they are abusing the forum and being "bullies" hiding behind their computers. i dont mind if i like what you say or not, but there is no need for anyone to be rude about it.

    tandraig,

yes you are right, it is getting beyond a joke, im new to this aswell, i have never posted on here before, i dont really know the solution, i know you can block them. you can also report them, but im not sure how serious that is taken, it is upsetting, and for people to say that i shouldnt be on here if im sensitive, i think is wrong, i believe that if others can be sensible and offer any sort of advice, whether it is good or bad, then they shouldn't be using it. me or anyone else shouldnt be made to feel they are in the wrong just for asking for some advice from others.
just like yu, i dont know what to do, these people dont know your personal circumstances, and can be quite hurtful. someone said about deserving to die, not being funny, but for all they know i might be!!!!!

I realise you are upset about it kaj70 but calm down hun. its the insensitive posters on here that are winding you up - take a look back! you are entitled to be annoyed if you are injured by food! the firm offered you a replacement - not good enough - you were injured by burger . take it to trading standards hun if you dont want to take up that offer. if you have that in writing they are admitting liablilty. if you are not seeking compensation - thats the way to go
