Er... sounds like a genuine mistake? What do you want? £1000 compensation?

Theyve offered you a refund and a free burger... give them a break...

ermmmm, no i dont want that atall, and i WASN'T offered a refund. when did i mention that i wanted anything. i want to actualy know that it wont happen again. in a resturaunt, you expect to get what you pay for, without the extra's. its not to much to ask that the people that are payed to work in these places understand simple hygiene.. for example- not to make a burger on a worksurface that isnt clean or clear of anything that shouldnt be in the burger!!!

Presuming that a mistake-free world is not really feasible, and accepting that you don't want compensation or vengeance, why are you posting on here?

i wanted to know what most people on this site would have done, whether the majority of people would just accept the burger, or take it a bit further. as i read this site alot and value the advice i read on here, so i was unsure if it is something that should be taken more seriously, or just put it down to a one off error on there part, thats all.

I'd just accept the burger. A cocktail stick in the gum is painful and not particularly nice, but it heals quickly and doesn't really stop you doing anything. I'd push for a refund (maybe even as well as a free burger), but compensation? By it's very definition, it's to compensate for loss - and I don't think you've lost much, aside from your respect for the restaurant.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

    Thank you Esqui,
Its nice for a sensible response, yes your right about compensation, i didnt think of the point you made, but you have a point, i wasnt nasty to the staff and was very understanding. i just want them to be aware and for it to be avoided in the future, and yes it did hurt. i think that what got me the most was when i rung up they said they use cocktail sticks in there burgers all the time, i have eaten there many times and have never seen one atall...anywhere!!

im in bed with extreme pain, suffering from a relapse of my dibilitating illness, i dont think that spelling right is the top of my list at the moment. so maybe a little understanding wouldn'd be to much to ask. what is the point of such nasty comments, get a life.

gordikin..i think i miss read your message...didnt i??? if i did then sorry, i just looked at it again. and yes, everyone makes mistakes. i thought this was a sensible site full of grown ups wanting to resolve issues, by disscussing them with other people. but it seems some people just use the site to please their own little ego's. so sorry again, and thanks
