thankyou..i have got defensive as it is upsetting me. and i dont understand why people are using this forum just to have a go at others. maybe i shouldnt have wrote back, but there is no need to be nasty in the first place. its the first time i have used this, and just wanted some other people's view on it. not to feel abused and stupid for doing so.

we do have to stand up for our rights, and if your paying for a product or service that isnt to standard, are we just meant to except it. I have not wanted to cause any trouble for the restaurant or the staff, and i wouldnt dream of doing so. i do understand mistakes happen. but just wanted to know where i, or anybody stands when this happens. it's wrong of anyone to be-little the views of someone else.

you put that far better than i did. and im sure that many others feel the same.

    thanks :)

Try not to let it bother you kaJ70, there are certain posters on here who do seem pretty unpleasant, all you have to do is look at their posting history and you will see it isn't just you! I was always taught 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!' Obviously people will have different opinions but we can still all remain pleasant to one and other. Good luck with getting this sorted out to your satisfaction.

No problem! Most of the folk on here are fab and give excellent advice, of course there are a few unpleasant folk, but I think they are in the minority. Don't let it put you off posting in the future! Plus if they are upsetting you, you have the option of putting them on ignore so you won't see any posts by them! :j

i just want to say that you are very hypocritical, as i see from your post, you also had an issue that needed to be dealt with, i dont want to be rude to you,, but your comments to me are unjustified. i could have told you to grow up and get over it. but i read it with respect that you are uoset about your satnav not working. to me that is a trival problem, that can easily be rectified, and didnt cause you any pain or loss of blood. please think before writing on my thread's and like i say if your going to just be rude and nasty, dont bother. thanks.

"Can anyone tell me what my rights are regarding faulty goods please.
I bought a sat nav from Currys on the 30th of June, it has stopped working. I know my receipt says that if it goes wrong within 28 days then they will refund or replace automatically (not a very long time)
But if it's outwith the 28 days they will "provide a promp and professional resolution" whatever that means? I'm assuming that it will probably mean a repair job, but then that means I will be without my sat nav for an undisclosed period of time.
I really need to have it for my job, can anyone tell me if there is a time limit they have to stick to for this or better still if I can dmand a refund as I really need to get another one ASAP"

Don't bother sending me any more PM's you really have nothing to say that I wish to hear. I think your post was utterly ridiculous and I am entitled to my oinion regardless of wether or not you agree with it. If you let something as trivial as this worry you then you are due for a heart attack any day now. Lighten up and get a grip on reality.

Some posters on here are real stupid!

The OP asked a question, wanted advice. If you can't post anything to help them then why do you even bother replying?

Its true though, what if a child did eat the burger? Should I come to your house sammiedoodle,love_my_2_boys? would you sort it out? Seeing as you being such fu*kin n*obs?

Seriously some people deserve to die!

    Yip you got that right

How utterly ridiculous that comment is, so someone deserves to die because they don't think making a big fuss over something so trivial is necessary?
I think that says it all...

I think you need to go lie down and get some perspective on this. There was a small piece of wood in a burger, just because some people don't believe it warrants a full trial at the crown court doesn't mean they deserve to die.

Also who says the posts that don't agree aren't helpful? Sure they aren't all fluffy and sympathetic but if they help the OP see that it should not be acceptable to demand large amounts of compensation for trivial accidents then I'd say that is quite helpful, not just for the OP but for society as a whole.

Its not the 'not agreeing' bit thats the problem - its the continued rudeness towards both the OP and anyone else who thinks that he has got a case for a SMALL gesture of goodwill. So far as I know, neither the OP nor anyone else has suggested demanding large amounts of compensation. I don't agree with taht - and I'm pretty sure that the OP doesn't want that either. Whats needed is an ex gratia demonstration of goodwill. Whats also needed is for certain posters to behave in a more adult and sensible manner and stop playing this silly game of trading rudery.
