Honey, I am so sorry, have I completely missed something??? I didn't mean to be insensitive.

  • Hi all,

Just a quick hello as off to bed cos had to be up at 4.45am this morning for a flight to Edinburgh.

Managed to clean a lot of my room and get rid of most of the filing, although some of it still needs to be done. Won't be home again until Monday week but am going home to Ireland as well this week and can't wait as I get some home cooking :)

PAID - sorry you couldn't finish sooner. You will get there though

Starnac - I reckon they are very impressed with you and hope the talk with your manager goes well

Everyone else - well done on the cleaning and a big hello!

well i spoke to my manager and she said it wasn't a mistake that i had a letter. she didn't really give much away. she asked me if i was interested in the job and i said that i thought i could do the job but didn't want to waste their time applying if they didn't think i had the right qualifications and she said "anyone can do the job with the right mentor" not sure how to take that. i'm mean did she mean "yes i think you can do it but don't want to say that straight out" or did she mean "a monkey could do the job you muppet!"

anyway decided to ring HR and ask for an application form anyway. the HR woman who i've dealt with quite a few times was lovely and she sounded really pleased that i wanted an application form (probably part of her job to humour the minions) but that made me feel more positive. i've been applying elswhere too so if i apply for this promotion and don't get it at least i know i'm applying for other jobs as well so i won't be stuck there. which reminds me i came on the internet to look for jobs oops *hangs head in shame*

I think your boss was trying to say in a roundabout way - go for the job!!!

No I don't! I think she was giving you a gentle nudge in the right direction but she can't be seen to be giving you more info than the rest. There is no harm in applying for it anyway.

    Morning all!

I survived the 57mi bike ride on Saturday. Had a sore bum and was really tired on Sunday, but back to normal today. :) Very pleased.

Bf's birthday went really well too.He liked his pressies and I cooked us a lovely (even if I say it myself ;)) meal; panfried duck breast with red wine sauce and dauphinoise potatoes with veggies. With a nice wine and champagne. I might of spend bit more than I had money for, so have to check my figures and tighten my belt for the rest of the month, but it was well worth it.

Need to go back now and catch up with the thread! Hope all are well.

Hi CMD. I have to day, I was quite pleased with myself re: bike ride. Haven't cycled that far ever and we didn't do any training and last I rode a bike last summer...And we cycled every step of the way, no pushing bikes uphill or anything. Have to say though, when we got to Pontypridd, about 14mi to the end, I was like, yeah, I want to get home now. We stopped at the Bay in Cardiff and had a drink, but had to then cycle the last couple of miles to bf's house. My bum was so sore, I couldn't sit down on the saddle anymore for ages...:o:rotfl:

Sh- good luck with writing the book.

CAFC - like the idea of your tattoo and the words, very inspiring. Reminds me of a book called The Descent.

Starnac - if they sent you the letter and it wasn't a mistake, go for the job, they obviously think you have the right qualifications!

Oh, meant to say, sold a few things on ebay last night. Need to get them ready to be posted tomorrow. Just one question. One of them wants to pick up the item, they still have to pay through paypal though???Or not??
