  • Hi PAID!!!

When are you finishing the old job and starting the new one?

I had no joy on negotiating timeframes so have got another 4 weeks. It feels like an eternity :( Oh well, the end is in sight :D:D:D

I am very impressed with all this cleaning, I did a very light clean on mine before I went to look round some of the places doing Open House. My friend and I managed to clock up 10 miles of walking going from place to place!!!! I might go back for more tomorrow if my feet have stopped throbbing:o

no POA for me this weekend. am enjoying having a bit of time off. back in work tomorrow night. need to ring up work tomorrow though and speak to the director of operations. last week we had a team meeting and she told us about a new deputy service manager job they were creating. she said that they were going to promote someone internally for it and all the senior support workers would get a letter asking them to apply for it. well anyway yesterday i got one of those letters. i'm not a senior and have only been with the company 7 months (although have a lot of experience as have been doing this job forever!)

i know i could do the job but i don't want to apply for it then they give the job to a senior cos i'm afraid the other seniors will be like "why did you apply for it anyway you're not a senior blah blah blah" and then make me feel stupid.

so i'm going to ring the director of ops and ask her if i was supposed to get a letter or if it was a mistake. if i was supposed to get one then did she think i was qualified enough to apply. that way i don't waste their time or my own. does that sound like a sensible idea?

Hi starnac - good luck for the conversation, fingers crossed it is a good outcome. I reckon they have been impressed with you and have assumed you are a senior, even if it turns out to not be a goer, there might be a senior job becoming vacant after.

I have done sooooooo much walking this weekend, I have just made a roast to reward myself but it wasn't very nice :( poor me, best I have a tunnocks caramel wafer to cheer me up)
