  • On another note, I had a chat with a man about a job that I didn't thinkI wanted that I may now want and that he wants me to go through formal interview for. Is not a guarantee but I think I am in with a pretty good chance and while it isn't my dream job, it does tick a lot of boxes for me filling some gaps on my CV and is working on a discrete project team but for a huge organisation so should give me access to opportunities in the future. OH doesn't think I should take it but it ticks so many boxes that I am seriously thinking about it, I will have a chat with a few friends tomorrow I think and see what they reckon too... (they want to do the interview this week)

  • Hi PAID - Good luck with the job, doesn't hurt to have an interview and find out more and see how you feel. I say go for it.

    Hi all

PAID - i agree with TMD it doesn't hurt to have the interview. you can always say no if you decide you don't want it afterwards.

CMD - ooh good news about your OH. fingers crossed for you both

didn't really get chance to talk to DH today about things as i've had quite a stressful day. had a M/S this morning and when i got there it was closed. i emailed gap buster to let them know. they rang me back while i was in bed asking if i wouldn't mind going back a bit later. i couldn't get back to sleep after that. went back to do M/S later on and they were closed again. i was not happy. neither were gap buster when i told them though.

so i haven't had much sleep today and i knew if i'd mentioned it we would have had another row as i was tired. will def speak to him tomorrow though cos it's really annoying me. with everything that's gone on in the last 2 years he was the one thing i could rely on. even when i'm doubting myself and feeling really down he is the one dependable thing in my life. and now he's making me feel like he doesn't want to be with us anymore.

PS sorry for the whinge guys

  • Have just rung up HMRC and told them I am no longer self-employed, it will take effect from next weekend. They will also cancel my NI contributions Direct Debit so that will save £10 a month.

My OH said Aviva rang up earlier for me, they are calling back, I have my Life Insurance with them so might reduce my level of cover as I'm currently paying £20 a month, but might reduce it to £10 or £15 until my debt is reduced significantly.

CAFC - Hope your day has been OK, hope your boss was OK when you handed your notice in. I hope the funeral was as OK as it could be, so very sad when people we love die, am thinking of you today!

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm going to cash in my 20ps today at the band, have £10 worth so will pay that off my Lloyds card tomorrow.

Am feeling quite happy and relieved now I'm no longer Self Employed, so much work for so little benefit, I've never earnt enough to have to pay tax and I just can't be bothered and can't do it seriously with the kids as they are still so young.

Will have to ring Tax Credits next week to notify them that I am not working, don't think we will get any more money though.

TMD (feeling quite good at the mo)

Like others have said, you've got nothing to lose and it would be good interview practice. Why isn't your OH keen?

    Hi all

couldnt tell you how handing in my notice went because i basically left the letter on his desk and then went off to the funeral.....
I did have two missed calls on my mobile from them though shortly after i left so not entirely sure if it was my boss or what?

DH doesnt even want me to go back... and i really dont want to either.....but i really need the money....

  • Hi CAFC - Glad you handed your notice in, hopefully he will be OK tomorrow when you go in, try not to worry too much, the end is in sight (hopefully the time will go quickly), at least you will have a few weeks to look for something else. How did your husband get on at his new job today?

  • Hi all

CAFC (((hugs))) I hope that the funeral went as well as possible and well done for handing in your notice, don't worry about leaving it on the desk, i would just make sure they got it if they don't mention it pronto tomorrow. How rude of them to call you when they knew you were at or on your way to a funeral too. I really hope that the rest of the week gets a bit better for you. I think you should go in tomorrow, it will be horrible but like you say, you need the money.

Snow White, he used to work there and didn't like it, but it was some time ago and things have changed. we both work in the same field so I know lots of people that work there and the job is vacant because a friend of mine has moved on, very incestuous.
