    No you're not hun....
My advice would be to talk to him later on today and explain while hes been away your parents have done a lot and they need a break as well.
Say you're upset he didnt tell you about agreeing to go back and that it upset you because its hard not seeing him but appreciate he was doing it for all the right reasons to earn more money.....

It just takes them a little while to twig, they are simple creatures really.....

DH and I are going into town today to get him a little pressie to say well done on the job and his fire service things going well, probably be a book so he has something to read during his lunch break.....and then im meeting my old friend at starbucks for some serious caffeine!!!!

And I paid £80 off my credit card yesterday as well

  • Hi Starnac

I would be annoyed too, his parents might love to have your DD it wouldn't hurt him to ask them.

Well done CAFC on paying a bit more off the cc. You are sounding a lot happier now you have decided to hand your notice in. Are you doing it tomorrow? Good luck, I remember when I had a job I hated and it felt wonderful handing my notice in and knowing that in a few weeks I wouldn't have to go back.

Am so glad it is September tomorrow, that is my start date to make sure I save as much in my sealed pots as possible, kids go back to school on 7th and 17th, can't wait until DD2 goes all day (she starts on 17th and does two weeks of half days and then stays all day), it will be nice not having to go to the school 3 times a day.

hi Starnac - he sounds pretty selfish to me - I would have rowed with him too!

For all us parents - sign of relief holidays are nearly over! My DS starts high school on Wed and my DD goes back to school Thursday. I still need to get them to try on their uniforms (kindly bought by mil) label them and I need to pick up DS's sports uniform from school tomorrow!!!

Today I also need to inform VOSA/DVLA I no longer have my old car - lost my old slip that I should have used to inform them of new ownership - oops!

Hopefully we will have a no/low spend day today!

Sounds like you've all had a busy week with your house transformations and beauty treatments. Well I've done both at once today.... managed to drop a pot of blusher that exploded .. white bathroom floor and walls now pink, plus it's a mineral blusher, so expensive and will stain. As I tried to clear it up I dropped a pair of sandals in it and ruined them. :o

My crushed foot is ok again though, just managed to walk to the pub.

The blusher thing made me laugh because I've done similar with an eyeshadow palate thingie and it went for miles (well not quite!)

Glad foot is rehabilitated enough for trips to pub :T

hi all. well i've had a rubbish day. DH came home this evening and we've rowed already. he came home and just announced he's going back in 3 weeks for the weekend. the whole time he was away he would text me saying how much he missed us and how he wished he could come home and now he's already agreed to go back. i was not a happy bunny. i asked him if he would take DD up with him and ask his parents to look after her during the day and he said it wouldn't be fair asking them cos they would have to have her all weekend cos he couldn't possibly miss out on all the evening goings on. and yet he hasn't even asked if i'll be working on that weekend (which it looks like i will be) cos he just assumes my parents will have DD if i am. doesn't he think i've asked enough of them this last month?? i am fuming. he's lucky i'm in work and can't yell at him all night.

am i being unreasonable by being annoyed?

NO. Hope you've had a chance to make him listen and behave more fairly.

Having lovely banks hols but an evil return to work looming now

  • Yep, work is looming....

My OH cleared up most of the blusher, but I'll need to try sth stronger on the tile grouting.

Good luck with the sealed pot TMD! I opened mine last week :o but only took a little bit of money out so as not to go over my overdraft, and started another pot straight away. It was surprising how much was in there!

    Hi Starnac,

I don't think you are being unreasonable. As others have said, maybe DD's grandparents would be delighted to see her. I hope you get it sorted out soon. Maybe approach him again and see what he says

    Hi to everyone else!

Hope everyone else is okay today and having a nice bank holiday.

OH was texting a former workmate today and there is a chance that he might get offered some contract work. That would be brill as it would mean we could stay put rather than having to move when I am 5/6 months pregnant. He has also applied for the job in Cambridge so we will see how that application goes as well.
