is he not entitled to stat paternity pay hun??
Or he cant take holiday I guess?

Its snowing really heavily here, our car has 6 inches on it and it doesnt look like it plans on stopping anytime soon....

No, we have checked out stat paternity pay and he isn't entitled. His annual leave runs from April to April (and it was used up on going to Oz) so it will have to be unpaid leave. The good thing is that he will have a full amount of annual leave at the beginning of April so we will have a nice amount of time off when my sister gets married in June :)

How is the snow there now?

    Happy Birthday for tomorrow.

I remember when I was pregnant with DD1 when it was my birthday my OH was working and I was meant to be going to my parents for the day but they both had flu so I couldn't go.

    Thanks TooMuch!

Can't believe I am going to be 33. Getting old! I did want to have my first baby by 32 but my birthday is just sneaking in there before the baby arrives :)

Happy Birthday for tomorrow CMD. I hope you can get out and do something. Despite my user name I am also getting sick of the snow now (but wouldn't resort to knocking off snowmen's heads - yet).

CAFC - I just found your new diary. Your thing about doing constructive jobs is really motivating. You just made me wash up! Thanks (I think).

    Thanks Snow White :)

Happy birthday CMD. okay i'm 34 minutes early but i'm sure you wont mind

33 isn't old to have a baby. when i had DD 2 years ago (at 25) i felt like the odd one out. on the ward the mums were either 19, 20 or in their 30's. i seemed to be the only one in the middle.

Hi CMD (and Happy Birthday to Yoooooooooooouuuuuuuu)

Where I just finished working the HR department (when one of the guys that worked for me went to check his options on maternity pay) suggested that he take it as two weeks of 'compassionate leave' I was annoyed with them because they basically told him he could have two weeks compassionate without speaking to me and another employee had just had to take unpaid and annual leave in lieu of paternity so it was deeply unfair (I also don't think I have ever granted two weeks compassionate to anyone in my life and it would be exceptional circumstances if I did - I am not a person lacking in compassion but it is a lot and in the normal sort of compassionate leave situation I would expect it to have moved into a different type of leave if still needed after a few days) anyhow, I digress, maybe he could explore getting some compassionate leave for the day of the birth and the next day (or whatever he can get) - not fantastic but does at least make a dent in the overall amount of unpaid leave. He might get absolutely nowhere but it could be worth an ask.

Gosh, that was a rambly way of putting it!
