    Snowboarding sounds like fun!

HI CAFC - how is your OH's job hunt going? Is there much work up there? Have decided whether you will work before the baby. It might be good to get something part-time as you have a bit of a way to go yet. I think I would be driven mad waiting for the baby to arrive if I didn't have work keeping me active.

His hunt is going ok, he's finding stuff to apply for. Got turned down for bus driving job on application but that might just be because other applicants wouldnt have required the additional license training.
Next week is busier for him though, got his fire service tests, ad also a testing day for Orange. He's also applied for a couple of jobs at the hospital but they dont close till end of the week.

I'd like to do something, and I've applied to a couple of part time retail jobs but the thing is (and I hope this doesnt sound big headed) but given m experienc I think I seem overqualified for part time sales, in which case they may wonder about how long I would stay etc.
Might start branching out for admin stuff now though. If nothing else I thought I might try and volunteer, for something to do, like for a charity shop or something, pricing stuff up or sorting or whatever.....keeps the mind occupied...

Im starting to go a little bit stir crazy but its not helped by the snow, meaning i cant go out and do things. But thats only really been the last week or so because ive just felt so rough up till then, that not working was actually better for my stress levels because i wasnt worrying about that as well.

  • Hello and Happy New Year ladies/bumps.

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm! Great to hear you had good Christmases. I've decided 2010 is going to be fab year so bought a lovely filofax I'd been eyeing up (with Xmas vouchers :money:) to record eveything. Makes me smile every time I see it.

Glad you're starting to feel better CAFC. I left my job recently too and feel sooo much happier and healthier. Setting up freelance is stressing me a bit at the mo, but at least I'm in charge.

WHERE has shelley gone??? I don't think she has been here for months, the naughty step is lonely without her and very chilly in this weather.

Hmmmm, i am bored of snow now, it is all just icy :( and there was a huge snowman that someone had made outside my flats when I got in on Wednesday evening, but then on Thursday morning on my way to work it had had its head knocked off. I was gutted, sob. RIP snowman.

    Hi all,

I have been housebound for a week. Haven't been able to go out in case we slip and no sign of this snow melting at all. Am going stir crazy as it is my birthday tomorrow and looks like I will be spending another day indoors :(

The only positive is that I am spending no money so January won't be as tight (moneywise) as I thought. OH checked with his company and he isn't entitled to any paternity leave, as he hasn't been in the company for long enough so looks like he will have to take 2 weeks unpaid leave when I have the baby.

    Happy Birthday for tomorrow.

I remember when I was pregnant with DD1 when it was my birthday my OH was working and I was meant to be going to my parents for the day but they both had flu so I couldn't go.

  • Happy Birthday for tomorrow CMD. I hope you can get out and do something. Despite my user name I am also getting sick of the snow now (but wouldn't resort to knocking off snowmen's heads - yet).

CAFC - I just found your new diary. Your thing about doing constructive jobs is really motivating. You just made me wash up! Thanks (I think).
