Good afternoon all, and am I glad I don't have to go out any more today! Walked round to the local shop earlier and nearly went base over apex on a slippy bit of snow - and that was with my best wellies on!

    Hi everybody.

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Bored and cold...too mean to put the heater on in this room. Did washing this morning which is drying on the airer in front of the window in the lounge (the heater has been on in there). Have made a start on taking the tree down as well - so far I have taken 4 baubles off it..I am trying to stretch the work out:rolleyes:

Need to have a bath later so will have to put the immersion on and then later the towel rail and put the fan heater in the bathroom - it is too cold in there and I nearly froze to the loo seat earlier:eek:

    Hi all,
I'm bored too Lula, working from home but still bored ...

Nearly went base over apex (to quote Nargle) when I went out to empty the bin earlier. Needless to say, the binmen haven't arrived all week so our bin is still outside on the road (where we've been asked to leave it) along with all the other resident's bins. The way things are going, our road will impassable in a bit between the snow/ice and the rubbish .

Got to get better soon, surely?

Take care everyone and enjoy your warm bath Horace. I gave up a couple of hours ago and put the heating on, I was frozen solid...
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)

Well it is winter, solvent, when can you have the heating on if not in winter?

Our council have also suspended refuse collections till next week, so anyone wanting directions to our house just has to follow the cloud of bluebottles....
