It isn't clear if they are his children but never-the-less leaving their mum without paperwork, i.d. or money is pretty bad. Especially the week before new school term whatever mum has/hasn't done.0 -
Hi there, if you need a replacement birth cert then the official people in Ireland have a FAQ page here. From a v quick read, online applications are not yet possible but you can apply by fax/post/person. Could a relative pop into one of the local offices? Otherwise it's the Dublin office I think, as they will take a sterling postal order if you don't have a credit card.
Remember Irish offices are open on Monday as it's not a bank holiday there. Good luck with everything.
PS, I'm assuming you're from "The South"?0 -
If you seriously do not have a penny in the house in your purse, I would phone the police (non emergency) call your local station and report him for theft.
Why not - he's taken everything and left you with not a penny and if those tax credits are in your name that's theft.
You've got to think about your little ones - he obviously hasn't - what a scumbag - ok i don't know the reasons he has left, but to leave children with nothing is 100% deplorable.
Can you not contact his family/anyone/friends?? Salvation Army??
I'm sorry to sound a cynical woman - but reading threads like this, make me realise that if i am to get married , I'm going to have a few secret accounts 'just in case'.0 -
Thank you all for your advice. I'm from Dublin so getting to offices there shouldnt be a problem. Yes, I can assure you they are all his children! There was no major drama to the split up, we hadnt been getting on for a while and he left yesterday, no-one else involved and no abuse/violence issue.
I have just had some most fantastic friends drop a fridge/freezer full of food in bless them so at least we wont go hungry!
I have called Ocean Finance, and they were as arsey as I expected so not sure where to go with that, as I cannot give them what I do not have, but so far everyone else has been great so hopefully the others will give me a bit of space to get some funds together.
I have no idea where he is and he has his mobile switched off so realistically I'm not going to get any money out of him, I'm relatively resigned to that fact, sadly.
Thanks again for all your advice x0 -

I do feel really sorry for the OP and agree her husband has behaved badly and sincerely hope that things improve asap but that sort of comment helps no one does it? We don't know the circumstances of the split (and quite rightly, the OP may not wish to divulge details).0 -
I never asked her to divulge any information and i also already stated it was on a less than helpfull note IE: personal opinion to which i believe i am still entitled in this day and age.
The rest of the advise i gave her is still sound advise so if you dont like my personal opinion then ignore it and dont comment further simples!:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Will the gas & electric people change the name on the account? ie so that the next time a bill is sent you will have a form of address ID. Maybe you could ask under what circumstances they will issue a bill outside of the normal billing cycle? Maybe by changing your name on the account today & ringing up on Tuesday & requesting a duplicate bill, this will have picked up on the name change? Don't really know but just guessing.0
