Yes I was
Kitchen is now clean (er. I will have some stuff to put in the diswasher later but mostly clean)
Dinner is in the oven. Lamb shank with minted gravy. Roasted new potatoes and carrots, cauliflower and green beans and some yorkshire pud. OH was saying how he was having roast lamb dinner at his grand-parents and I was thinking 'hmmm, i want some of that!''Enders is on- don't usually watch it but it's ok background noise and reminder set for x-factor. All in all- an enjoyable evening will be had methinks (especially with 1/2 bottle of wine in the fridge
)
Welcome Cat Addict- no wonder you were attracted to the 'blonde-crazy-cat-lady' thread. :rotfl:*ps- a good majority of us are not 'technically' blonde but at least 'mentally' blonde :rotfl: I am Laura, 28 live with OH and cat Harold. I did catch Poppytime up with what was happening with me so I shall go find that post and copy and paste it! :rotfl:
Princess- sorry work is so busyIt sounds like you are being run ragged! If you do choose to ask for a payrise make sure you go into the meeting with a prepared list of what you do and what your responsibilites are and particulary any new stuff you are responsible for now that you weren't when you started and your pay was agreed, to show how much more you do now. Does that make sense?
I'm in a bit of a weird situ at work. It think I am being paid considerably less than another person who was doing the same job but I can't prove it as peoples pay isn't information that is shared. That and other people came back travelling expenses and no-one has ever told me i can, so I never have. So a bit fed up. Especially as I looked on opticianonline at jobs and for people with my qualification in this area at the moment offered salarys start at £15k up to £30k, averaging at around £23k. I'm on £17.5k. I'm starting to wonder if I can afford to keep working where I am.
Re the roast lamb... Yumorama!!! Laura, sod OH, I'll marry you
So Princess, it basically it boils down to lists according to us two!
Re work - If you're fed up and are really being underpaid by that much you should definitely look around. It's about a sense of self worth, too. You spend a third of your life there, you might as well try and aim for satisfaction in some way!Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -

Right now I am currently picking the music to play at my wedding. Catch is- OH has not proposed yet :rolleyes:But hopefully, touch wood, it is in the offing in the near-ish future.
Y'see OH and I have been together nearly 9 1/2 years  and this summer i finally got round to broaching the subject of wanting to get married - to which he replied words alongs the line of 'what's the point?' Cue much angst from me which these guys had to deal with.
After a second conversation things looked more positive and then a month after that I wanted to talk about it again and he said ' I told you that if I was going to propose I would want it to be a surprise so we can't have any more conversations about it' so just waiting now...
And 'cos I am a proper loony I have been pretty much planning out this whole wedding in my head so that when he does (it has to be a when, it can't be a if..) get round to it, it can all be whipped into shape pronto!
So that's me in a nutshell.
Oh yeah, and I'm 28 live in Leeds with OH and a cat called Harold.
There you go Cat Addict, you are now totally up to speed with my boring life!0 -
Have had sudden attack of nerves re job interview tomorrow. I don't usually get nervous but I think because I am really desperate for a job I've put loads of stock in getting this. Must calm down!
If anyone's still out there some reassuring words would be nice right about now...Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -

'Chillax' Rubes- you'll do fine. You're amazing at interviews and will do brilliantly.0 -
Thanks Ruby and Laura - and I'm in Manchester by the way.
My OH won't be dragged up the aisle LOL - he doesn't like marriage. But I'd far rather be living "over the brush" with him than married to my ex-husband haha!Wendy x0 -
Thanks Laura. Appreciate the props! Urgh - am such a fool for getting worked up, I know I am but I'm so worried about my situation I can't help it. Just applied for another job online. Seriously, looking for a job is a full time job, fact.
Cat - was made redundant 8 wks ago which I hope explains the above! I'm 31 & single and living alone in London hence why it's definitely very worrying!
Er...living over the brush? Is that a Manc term?Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -

It's no wonder you're worried, it's a tough time but I'm certain sure you will do fine. Afterall isn't everyones luck turning around? Tilly got a new job and her OH. Ebs has got a permanent job. Princess started tackling her debts.
It's your turn now. I can feel it in my water. Well, in my glass of wine at least!0 -

1. had my limit on my credit card reduced to £2000 (the outstanding balance is £1980 so I physically can only use £20 more on it now :T)
2. Resent my charges letter to the correct department
3. Cancelled an order for a dress from Asos, I don't need it, I'll never wear it and it's not a "bargain" at £30 just because it's in the sale. So there.
Phew, feel a bit better now!If reducing your credit limit works keep doing it until it's gone!

All will be fine
Well have resisted the temptation to crack open a bottle of wine and have poured myself a coffee but the night is young yet
Am catching up on last nights Xtra Factor before the main show at 8.
Swinstie - Reading on your curry is making me really fancy one :drool:I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun0 -
Evening All,
Just a quick hello and a welcome to CatAddict.Felt much better this morning for having an early night, I must have been tired I slept for nearly 12 hours. Spent an hour watching tv and shouting up to OH in the loft "no signal, frozen picture blah blah", then started to cut one of my overgrown trellis back intending only to spend an hour out there. About 5 hours later I came in and now am streaming, nose running and blocked at the same time, eyes itching and watering so don't know whether hay fever has set in again or if I'm starting with a cold now!
I feel pooh at moment, isn't it typical my 1st day of walking to work tomorrow and I feel grotty!
Had a NSD today. Catch up tomorrow.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
