Hey Girlies,
Need you all to put your minds to a task. Its my Nans 80th birthday on the 12th September, we are also (the family (7 people) going to Crete for 2 weeks end of month to celebrate.
I have £50 and I want to get her something very special as she is the best Nan you could ever ask for. Any ideas?????
Plus I want to take some stuff to Crete with me for a surprise party night in our Villa, what shall I take?
xxxxxxx
I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
Afternoon All,
I have done 3 hours ironing at work today and still didn't finish it! Needless to say, I no longer have the urge to do mine now.
Ebbs: Mince cobbler is mince with anything you have laying around chucked in, half a tin of beans (a must) and then a scone topping and baked in oven until scones cooked.
Tash: Suggestions for Nan's birthday. A special brooch or necklace, crystal vase, silver photo frame and nice picture or a dressing table brush set (jewelers)These are all things I bought my late Mum in her last few years. Her favorites were the vase and the brush set.
Ideas for what to take for suprise party, banners, balloons with 80, candles for on a cake and small vase so you can put few flowers in on table, table conffetti. Can't think of anything else! Yes I can scissors and string/ribbon for balloons.
I have 2 weeks before holiday and got to do some serious budgetting from now on, have budgetted until holiday and got to be really MSE afterwards.
I have stuck with the hourly ciggies since Sunday and its getting a bit easier. That's as far as I'm cutting down for a couple of weeks, then going to get it down further.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Afternoon all!
Well it's official - I'm now unemployed. The axe fell this morning although the HR girl had the grace to look genuinely quite sad about it (we'd always got on well). My reaction was to walk out of the office and instead of turning left towards the tube, I turned right towards New Look and Primark.
Now - justification. I've just paid in £125 of birthday money & cash from the rents plus work are paying me just over £4,300 in 7 days time. This will give me another month's wages (see me through Oct), hopefully give me a bit of savings and I want to put some towards paying off my loan. So with all that in mind, I hope a £90 spending 'spree' doesn't have you beating me to death with a budget planner. Plus for that I got: a boyfriend blazer, a pair of jeans, a cardigan, a vest, a top, pair of ankle boots, a scarf & a purse (replacing the one that got stolen). A good haul I reckon!
All I have to do now is find another job...Sealed Pot Challenge 2009 # 650 (target £150)Long Haul Supporters # 158 debt free 2014Member of the Blondettes :beer:Debt Free Date: doesn't bear thinking about!0 -

I wrote '80th' in the tag on the present.
You could write on exactly what you said above 'you're the best Nan anyone could ever ask for' Other family members could also sign and write messages. ANd then you bake it so it stays. It's mega simple- we did an anniversary on too for OH parents.
Also- it's not too expensive but looks expensive and it shows you've put thought and creativity into it!!0 -
Oh- before I forget Princess- how about this for your friends 30th. Cheap and a good pack of decorations http://www.clintoncards.co.uk/product/PAA1080/
You can get 'em just in shop. Don't have to get online. Saw 'em last Friday and thought of you!0
