Oh Laura - I am feeling your pain dude. Seriously though - I have been at parties like that! And men have no idea how emotive the whole maternity clothes thing is. To them - its just clothes:rolleyes:

    Sending you a hug dude.

  • Oh Laura, you're preaching to the choir darling. Most of my friends from home all have kids now and I sometimes feel as though I'm just nodding and smiling like a foreigner who doesn't understand the language. Even when you try and talk to parents about something else like (shock horror) your life, they keep one ear and one eye on the kids so you never have their full attention. I stopped trying years ago.

I can't BELIEVE OH said that, I just can't. You don't, DO NOT ever say something like that even if you are thinking it (which is bad enough). How you didn't bludgeon him to death through a haze of tears I have no idea. I've had a fairly rubbish weekend so haven't done well with WW. Am thinking of avoiding weigh in tomorrow as it'll make me late for my friend's birthday dinner (plus am dreading result) then try and start properly on Wednesday. It's all this sitting at home all day - the temptation to eat through boredom is IMMENSE.

RM - Just remembered about the anniversary of your mum's death. I hope you're coping OK and are not too down. Hugs.

:rotfl: Well the worst (best?) thing is- he won't even have realised what he was saying. Like Rupe said- he was just thinking clothes is clothes!

As of tomorrow I am seriously on a diet. No more messing around. I don't want to feel how I felt at the weekend again. I felt like a freaking whale.

At one point I was sat on OH's knee as there wasn't enough seats and I stood up to get a drink or something and someone said 'A's legs have tuned blue! Ha ha!' and I know they didn't mean it the way it sounded, but I had to walk away quick 'cos I nearly started crying. At least, I hope they didn't mean it the way it sounded 'cos that would be just rude.

    Morning All,
Just a quick catch up before work(I hate doing Tuesday's as it's usually day off).

Laura: Sorry yo had such an awful experience over the weekend, but don't do crash diets, not healthy. Hugs to you.
Rupe: Glad your beginning to pick up a bit. It's horrible when you can't shake things off and don't know what's the matter either. Hugs to you also.
Ruby: Thanks for your kind thoughts about Mum's anniversary, because she died on Rob's birthday I've always had to put that to one side and concentrate on his birthday- which is good.

We had a nice weekend with Rob coming yesterday for his birthday. Took him out for lunch and a few pints, then had to cook his favourite childhood dinner, mince cobbler and chocolate birthday cake! He's only 30!!!

Right better get organised for work, catch up later.

:rotfl:no crash diets here- I can't deprive myself of food that much! :rotfl:
My diet of choice is slimming world. Lots of fruit, veg, lean meats etc + a little room for chocolate, crisps and alcohol! :D So don't worry that I'll suddenly be fading away!

Anyways- Tasha- could you reset my start weight to 11st 5Ib? Weighed myself this morning and that's where I'd settled again!

Anyhoo- got my passport interview today- hope they realise I am me! I really want a holiday like normal people :p
  • Morning all, new thread, shiny!!

Laura your friends are just jealous of your wicked fun happy kid-less life. I know what it's like to be left out of convos though - before it was because all my friends went to the same school and I didn't. These days its things like, my friends in leicester doing stuff without me... my friends at the pub have known each other forever and I'm new - but they are very good at getting me joined in so can't complain.

Plus Laura your bloke wasn't trying to be insensitive hun - what he said might have sounded mean and cruel but he's A BLOKE. If you said it to him, he'd think "oh yes, good idea". They just aren't programmed the same. I remember when I tried putting on a SIZE SIX pair of jeans a couple of years ago that I'd had since I was 16 - just for a laugh like - and my ex came in the room and said: "Gosh you've filled out a bit haven't you?" He didn't know they were old jeans, he thought I'd recently put on weight. I smacked him with the same pair of jeans. He never said anything like it again. ;) Anyway my point is he loves you just the way you are, but bless him his Xx and Xys dictate he's just a bit of a numpty :o. Secondly, don't lose weight for anyone but yourself hun. If you want to then do it, but if you just feel like other people want you to then think about whether you're happy how you are. Much love.

Rubes your parents sound fab - mine are too these days although when I was younger we had a mutual dislike for each other :D anyway your pots sound fab, take some piccies love! Would love to see them.

Rupe hope you feel better soon love xx

RM Good on you for cutting down, being v strong, keep it up hun! Glad you had a good weekend with it being Rob's birthday, what the blazes is that mince cobbler thing, sounds interesting???

My weekend was a bit boring really, I went out for lunch and shopping (BAD EEBIE) on Saturday, followed by a night out in Pacha (it was AWESOME but tiring!!) Sunday I recovered then worked, Yesterday went to Notting Hill Carnival for like two hours then came back and worked, so not worth it. Next year I'll book the day off and go for the duration.

So here we are back in the working week!! Phew!!
    End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt :(
    Today's total: £7,297.06 :o

Yeah, I know. I'm not happy with myself. I feel disgusting. OH says I'm OK, but he said the same when I weighed half as much so I know he's not objective. + I have a new stretch mark on my tummy. I am literally too fat for my own skin!:eek: Needs sorting- asap!!

Going to have breakfast now- been mooching on 'tinternet and not bothered to eat yet  fat free greek yoghurt with fruit and honey. yum. Tummy grumbly...

Also - just want to let you know - if I ever get down to 11stone 5, I will run naked down the high street! :rotfl:I know different people have different goals - but just wanted to tell you that 11 stone 5 isn't huge or massive - so PLEASE don't feel so bad about yourself now. Its great that you are going to eat healthily and are going to get to where you want - but I bet you are much more gorgeous now than you give yourself credit for.

    (I am a size 14 - and A LOT over 12 stone - but I feel quite good really - especially as I used to be 17 stone!:rotfl:)
