  • I'm not doing christmas this year. I say it every year but I mean it this time. I am buying 10 gifts and THAT IS IT. I have already warned everyone.

I would rather spend a lot of money on each friend on their birthday -when it's more personal - than a fiver each on all of them at christmas. So no more!

Don't get me wrong, I love the pressies and and the food and the day itself - but just can't justify spending that much money all the time!

I can't believe how early christmas starts every year these days
    End of 2010 I was £8,007.66 in debt :(
    Today's total: £7,297.06 :o

  • Ebbs thats a good idea:) Wish I could do that too but too many kids I'm afraid...damn my parents for having kids 20yrs earlier than their siblings:rolleyes::D Although saying that, I can get away with cheap pressies and the parents get sod all:cool:
I only buy 'proper' pressies for immediate family and bezzie mates:)

And just to depress you that bit further....christmas s only 99days away:eek:
And Eebie, who balls are you juggling??;) Bet you wish it was IT Matts dontcha:p

:rotfl:You're so funny Fuzz! Yes I do wish... but hey ho, I'll probably never see that fine young bit of man-@ss again. Oh well.

I'm trying to book about 10 meetings, lied about going to the doctors (I actually had an interview) so feel bad about living a double life!!

Just want to go home and get under the duvet!

Kids eh? Well I do have one of those to buy a pressie this year but he's so young I won't be getting anything amezzin.

  • Hi everyone - just wrote a very long post and lost it all. can't find it anywhere, so just wanted to say hello to my favourite girls. It's my birthday and I wanted to say hi to you. I am still travelling up and down between home and my parents and my dad will have an op soon, altho he is not well at all. Life is hard at the mo - but hey! I am alive, I have reached 46 years old despite all the odds, and being an idiot most of my life, I live in a great place, and my landlady bought me a bottle of Bombay Sapphire and a big Fenwicks gift voucher for my birthday! :):):)

Lots of love to you all - I had done a good post I thought, but it has disappeared of somewhere. Princess - your Mum needs advice if that debt was incurred due to a business venture that has now ceased. She can get a lodger tax free under the rent a room scheme, so you not living there would not be a problem financially for her. So pleased to see your photos of the Green comp - you looked a proper class act!

Must go and love to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx :)
  • PS everyone - maybe you might remember my bank account being used fraudulently and identity theft? I found this article on MSE news about it all starting with a fraudulent O2 top up on your bank account - this is exactly what happened to me - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/cards/2009/08/bogus-mobile-top-ups-could-spell-gr

  • Hi guys, I've been lurking too. Haven't had much to say as have been feelig a bit mopey. Today has been a rubbish day so far - things keep going wrong, and really pretty small fry things really, but I was so upset earlier I cried - what's wrong with me? :o Think I need to go and sit in a darkened room somewhere where things can't go t*ts up.

RR, happy birthday! Hope all goes well with your dad's op.

Laura, well done for spending some of the voucher money on yourself and not on Xmas, you've done so well paying off debts that you deserve it! (how have you managed it?!)

Fuzzled, glad you enjoyed your holibob, sounds like you had a great time. I loved New York, but have never been to Vegas. I'd love to go though, looks awsome.

Ebs, don't feel guilty, you have to look for work. What was the interview for? How'd it go? I have to go for an interview on Monday morning for another temp role at the same comp I'm at now, but in the office in town. Am nervous about it now though, as apparently I'll have to do some kind of test to see how good I am at formatting docs. I know I can do it, but I get all nervous if I know someone's watching me. Also, had decided that wasn't going to get overly dressed up, but then was talking to my friend here (my work mum!), who knows the lady who's nterviewing and she said, "oh she's always really suited and booted", so now I'm thinking, if the interviewer is someone who always wears a suit to work, if I don't wear a suit will that make a bad impression of me? argh!
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...

Though you didn't have much to say:p Things always go wrong for me too, I just let rip at the guys and they in turn blame it on pmt:rolleyes: They're convinced pmt lasts about 3 weeks for me:rotfl:

If u get the chance to go to Vegas go! It's an amazing place and such an experience:D
And as for interview I say go suited and booted, can't be over dressed for an interview imo, plus if you power dress it'll make you feel more confident doing the test...or is that just me?
