Thanks Lynn!
I shall keep hold of my glass bowl until I get myself a lovely 9010 -
I've had both a 701 and a 901. The main difference that I've noticed is that the 701 is very solid - quite a lot heavier. It's also much quieter in operation and the motor starts more slowly when you switch it on - which means that if you've got a bowl full of flour you don't completely cover the kitchen with it!:rotfl:If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0

True, but you can get a splashguard for the A901 to stop the flour going everywhere!:happylove0

Hi bigmuffins, do you have a link to this please?
Agapanthus - Your comments on the 701 has reassured me.
Still waiting for mine. I doubt it will come for a few days yet. I'm getting impatient:j0 -

Hi
So do you think its worth holding on to the 701 then? I like the idea of it being a quieter, more solid machine!0 -
701 is quieter, but i just assumed that was because it wasnt as high powered.
i agree with needing a splash guard though on the 901 as the flour does go everywhere. as yet, i havent been able to find a splash guard 2nd-hand, so i just hold a teatowel around the bowl to keep most of it in.
if buying you machine 2nd hand i would really suggest getting it serviced. it usually costs about £15 plus parts, but as yet, none of my machines have needed any parts replacing, just a good clean/regrease by the engineer.

Bigmuffins - forget my question above. Just reread it and you said MSE - was thinking of MSN. Thought you meant some kind of MSN group devoted to Kenwood Mmixers... :doh:0
