newlywed how did you find the sausage and butterbean casserole??

Yeah it was good. Did a few tweaks to it though - added red pepper (coz I thought it needed some colour), and a bit of cumin to spice it up a bit as someone said it was a bit lacking. Plus I bunged it in the slow cooker after browning the sausages and frying off the onions and peppers.

Wondered whether it depends on the type of sausages you use as to the outcome.

    Hi all,

It's a bit late, but since I can't get to sleep and I haven't done the weekly shop yet, I thought I would do my plan for this week!

Mon - HM Meatballs & Onion Gravy & Mash (was meant to have last week but didn't) - ended up making meatballs with pasta in puttanesca sauce
Tue - Baked Potatoes with Tuna Mayo & Salad - was shattered and short of time so shared a Chinese! sshhh!
Wed - Out for family birthday dinner
Thu - Lasagne & Chips (not HM, but in the freezer and need to make space)
Fri - Green Thai Chicken Curry & Rice
Sat - Beef Bourgignon & Potatoes
Sun - Mince & Potatoes (or may make into a Cottage Pie)

    Have a good week.

Hello folks, joining in late in the week but at least joining in!!!
Wednesday: Homemade /meatballs, tomato sauce and spaghetti
Thursday: Pizza to use up and homemade potato wedges and salad
Friday: Mix from the freezer of single portions - lasagne, bolognaise etc
Saturday: Homemade Fish and Chips with peas
Sunday: Homemeade Steak Pie, Potatoes carrots, cabbage
all sandwiches and lunches are from things in the fridge, eggs, cheese, cold meat etc. with portions of home-made soup from the freezer for Saturday and Sunday, as I would like to get the freezer emptied and defrosted this month! Next weeks planner is done and all ingredients ordered from Tesco online!!! hope I can keep this up!

Well, I am doing OK until we got to the roast chicken last night... which didn't get roasted because our car went to the great auction house in the sky and it was too late. We had leftover soup and leftover quiche instead. And strawberries, mustn't forget the strawberries.
I have however been told by my husband that her doesn't like knowing what's for dinner when he gets up in the morning (and yes, he does cook quite a lot so it's not just me doing it). So next week I will plan, but secretly so it's a surprise.

    Here's mine:

    Mon: Mackerel/kippers with rattatouille
Tue: Chicken breasts in bacon with rattatouille (leftovers)
Wed: Chilli wraps (economy gastronomy recipe - with added lentils and oats - OH won't let me go back to my old way of making chilli now ;))
    Thu: Cumin chicken wraps
Fri: Italian turkey breasts with bean mash http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/12134/italian-turkey-steaks-with-garlicky-bean-mash
    Sat: Shep pie and veg
Sun: Sausage and mash and veg

Also planning apple and rhubarb cake, damson pie and possible blackberry traybake (most of which will go back into the freezer ;)).

Swapped Thurs and Fri meals round - forgot to get chicken out of freezer.

Plus Sat will now be sloppy joe bake as haven't had that in ages - basically a slightly spiced bolognaise mince base with garlic bread slices on top - with corn on the cob and something green.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've had to stop using French as Mr (very Welsh) Maitane knows as soon as I use French, I'm hiding something. I'm still able to use Spanish though or even "Spanish hash" which isn't just his hated bubble and squeak with chorizo and a fried egg on top.
