Shell Credit Card - Cashback cutback

It's been nice whilst it lasted but all good things & all that. I joined up to this from the start so have had a decent amount of cashback over the years(wished they had it when I was a long distance commuter!!). I never had any problems with the Indian customer service, always very polite & intelligible. My main problem was with the UK based fraud team, bleedin' useless. I always rang the international number after 6pm so never cost me anything to call them either.
Will I still fill up at Shell, yes, it's very convenient & I pass it almost everytime I go out in the car plus it's normally the cheapest or at least the same price as Tesco & Sainsbury's which I'd have to go out of my way to go to. The BP that is as close as the Shell forecourt just round the corner is usually 1 or 2p more per litre.
Though I do agree the cut is a poor move on their part & they'll deffo lose customers over it.
Oh, & hello, long time lurker, newly joined.0 -
I did like the way that refunds from the 29th to my account managed to be posted by the 30th - they never normally go through that quickly!
Call me cynical...0 -
Or if you fill up in Tesco, then you get 2x clubcard points - giving you 2% discount (as Tesco voucher) plus the 0.25% from Shell card hence a total of 2.25%!
Or use an original pre-existing Egg Money card from Citi at Tesco and get 2% from Tesco plus 1% from Citi. Or get a new Egg Money Card and get from 0.8% cashback upwards if you spend at least £500 per month on the card (£1 monthly fee for new Egg Money card holders but not original Egg Money card holders).
Or get 9% off fuel at Tesco if you use all the Clubcard Points on ClubCard Deals that are worth four times as much..................0 -
Anyone had an issue with the Shell rebate being applied this month, had an eligible purchase but it is still shown as carried forward.0

Presumably Cashback earned in September will be applied on November's statement just as the August Cashback earned will be applied on this month's statement?Anyone had an issue with the Shell rebate being applied this month, had an eligible purchase but it is still shown as carried forward.
Don't forget they aren't abolishing the Cashback system but just slashing it to unacceptably low levels for purchases from October 1st onwards.0 -

That's interesting, as that isn't how mine has worked in the past. ie in August I earned £5.60 on the statement, this was credited on my September statement. The value I earned on my September statement wasn't credited on the October statement however (even though it included a valid purch)0 -

Yes credited in September for August purchases but not taken off your bill till the following month's (October's) statement was the normal way for it to work.
So are you saying that this now isn't happening?0 -
I'm saying that the cashback showing earned on my statement dated 2/9/09 was not credited to my statement dated 2/10/09 although there was an eligible shell fuel purchase in the period.0

Or save the hastle and see if it comes off next month - after all we're talking pennies of interest being gained0
