August GC £0/£3000 -
I have done my big shop for the month totalling £154.16. So now my challenge begins, I want to keep within my £300 budget, but ideally I want it to be £250, so although I have £145.84, I only want to ideally spend £95.84 for the rest of the month. If I do the shopping without husband and kids I could probably do it.0

I think exactly the same and about my job too.
It is the thought of losing my job that has made me try harder to live more within my means and understand not to keep buying food (for me only!) constantly.
It has taken most of this year for the penny to drop and finally the last 2 months it has clicked with me. Same with the freezer - to start eating the things in the freezer instead of constantly adding to the stocks. At least something made me realise this.
Hoping I can manage this month and reign myself in still. Have increased the NSD for Sept to help the GC budget reduction.
Anyhow enough ramblings, will add up the spends from today now and see what else I need for this month with what is left.

Well, just spent £10 on bits and bobs, including some cream (to make Eton mess-have meringues and berries), cheese, pizza, veggies and some naughty carrot cakes which were reduced to £1.
Bar a pint of milk on Monday that should be all the spends until we're back from our first September wedding on Friday evening.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -
