Mrs M, firstly good luck with your op.
Could you let me know if the jam maker is easy to use as I make quite a lot of jams and chutneys and might put one on my Christmas list :xmassmileWW start date 31/8/2011 :j

I've been MIA recently but still have over £100 of my budget left with 13 days to go until my new month starts.
I'm planning a Costco trip to stock up on cat stuff for the next few months at the weekend, but hope that I will still be in budget by the end of the month!
Everyone is doing really well :T
Good luck with your op MrsM0 -
Mrs Mc, where did you find the jammaker for 50 euros (I can't find one anywhere near as cheap

I also went to Tesco express this morning and bought Nectarines, bar of Dairy milk (have several packets of Shredded wheats to use up so thought I could make some chocolate nests), a dozen eggs and a bottle of Diet Coke. Total: £7.11
Leaving a budget of £233.12.
I was thinking about padding out the kids lunch boxes with some home baking. Does anybody have any recipes or recommendations for lunch boxes and afternoon treats for kids, especially if one of the ingredients is Shredded Wheat?0 -

Sorry had to laugh at this - Bury's World Famous Market - only famous in Lancs!! hehe! Love the fish and meat hall there! Great on a saturday afternoon when the stalls are trying to get rid of their wares!! Think I'll pop along this sat afternoon!
I'm reading with interest this thread and would love to join in but our month runs 15th to 15th so think it would be hard to correspond my figures with eveyone elses. Will do my own personal challenge I think.Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0 -
Afternoon all
Well the hospital phoned this morning -with my appointment for my op
So I will be missing in action from the 5th October ....it could have been sooner -but hubby is away for a few days later this month (plus it gives me time to get organised)-so I have 3 weeks to get my bum into gear-
I have just been in the freezer to see what meat I can use up to make "ready meals" for those 3 weeks -then I can get the veggies etc I need next time I'm out
So I will be making- chili x 4
- bolognaise x 4
- chicken caserole x 4
- chicken n leek pies x 4
- sausage casseroles/pies x 4
- game casseroles x 8
- salmon n white fish pies x 4
- steak n veg slices x 4
- corned beef and onion slices x 4
- cheese n onion slices x 4
- must make him some pizzas
I reckon if I get that lot made and then get enough baguettes and cobs made for the freezer for his lunches -we should be set for "damage limitation" :T

I got the jam maker on sale in Marktkauf supermarket (sp?) -now I have played with mums Im going to be keeping my eye out for one for myself
Booskeyboo
That was my first time using the jam maker and it was sooo easy - but you can't do big batches..I was doing 1kg plums, 800g sugar, 200ml water -throw it in switch it on and leave it to it -45 mins later it beeped and its done. I had to put it on several times but it meant i could get on with other things (x-stitching)instead of standing over itand it has a self clean programme :j.... I made plenty of jam and when I ran out of sugar I put the rest on to the "juice extraction" setting and now have a huge pan of it in the fridge -ready to turn into jelly when I get some more sugar.
Im on 14 NSDs out of 16 so far -but i had better get a list made of what I need and then I can get it all in 1 go when I next shop
oooohhhh whilst I think about it would anyone be willing to babysit the list for October ?????
I can PM you the list of names so it will just be a case of adding the amounts as they are declared
Right I had better get off -hope everyone is doing well-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

(Shall blame it on the fact my GDs are back at school, but younger GD is on half days until the end of this week.... meaning I've a lot less 'childless' time to do anything else until next Monday !!!)
The only time I'll not be around in October is from early on Saturday 4th until sometime of the 5th - I'm attending a 24 hour breast cancer awareness fund raiser, and almost certainly won't have Internet accesss while there (elder DS forgot to bring his dongle back with him when he came home on leave - having accidentally taken it with him after he was home at Easter)
Other than that I shoul be around regularly on a daily basis, so am happy to 'babysit' if you still need someoneCheryl0
