I'm adding another £13.92 to my total.

Today could have been a NSD, but I had the chance to do tomorrow's shop in the car rather than lugging my shopping trolley so went for it - still getting into the swing of school runs and my legs were aching :o

3 x 6pt milk, a bag of sugar, bag of reduced pasta penne, a tub of marg, 2 blocks of cheese and 5 reduced muller corners for pudding tonight from the Co-op.

Should now have enough to get us to the weekend at the least.
DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts
  • Had to get milk, bread and some cereal for kids tonight also got some creme caramel puds 64p (but was better than £2 for 4 luxury yogurts!)
    So £4.88 in total spent.
    Shouldnt need anything else now.......
Kids enjoyed the shepherd pie (made from left over roast lamb, mash pots and carrots and gravy - just made a bit of extra mash - was yummy)
Tomorrow is pea, sweetcorn and ham risotto - I adore risotto and my chicken carcass is boiling away for fresh stock as I type

The only issue is the kids (5 & 8) who are not such big fans of risotto but I will get them helping and hopefully it will go down well

Need to start planning meals for next week soon!!!!

Going out for a walk with my friend later so have a good evening all
    Sep GC - £465/£400:rolleyes: Oct GC - £401/400 ;) Nov GC - £ 291.32/400

Had to buy more bananas today as we ran out and we each eat at least one everyday. So another £1-42 on my total - have updated my sig.

Just wanted to say good luck for your hospital appointment Mrs M!

Shattering day at work, so off to put my feet up!

  • just did my weekly shop. came in at £99. must admit i don't include my son's lunches in this as he has had a prepaid lunch card. my aim is to stop wasting money on uneccessary items in the weekly food shop and to do more baking.

Can I join in? I'm aiming for £40 a week, for me on my own.

Another NSD grocery-wise for me :D

Breakfast: 2 x toast with jam and marmalade
Lunch: Leftover sausage and bean casserole, crisps
Dinner: Am quite full, so may just have a boiled egg or something

Got 2 chocolate milkshakes free from work, and more Duchy tarts
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Ok people, so this month is off to a pretty poor start for me, I am about to say why (I apologise if my huge shopping list posts are a drag for you, but I am posting all my buys on here...and I am hoping that you will point me in the right direction)
My main preblem seems to be that I meal plan, then go shopping and buy what I need for it, then end up doing something totally different, I am very lazy you see, once I get started I am fine, but I usually just look for other things to do!!
Here goes with my list from sat, which after discounts and money off coupons, but including the taxi home, came to £56.58

480g tin tuna (manager special) £0.90
    greaseproof paper £1.40
    shower gel £0.77
    2 ramekin dishes £1.50
    3pack kitchen scissors £1.00
    RAZOR BLADES FOR OH £8.27
holdall on wheels 3 pce set £5.00 (reduced from £10)
    chicken thighs £2.91
    500g mince £1.21
    6 cod fillets £2.95 (reduced)
    6 chiken breasts £4.00
free from sausages 3pks for £5.00
    coleslaw £0.20
    ham - £0.42
    milk £1.53
    frozen veg £1.28
    frozen mince £1.49
    soya milk £0.60
    hula hoops £0.81
6 tins cat food £1.80 (reduced)
    smash £0.45
    dessicated coconut £0.69
    porridge oats £0.58
    6 garlic naans £0.79 (reduced)
    2.5kg potatoes £1.00
    baked beans £0.29
    kidney beans £0.19
    fabric softner concentrated £0.90 (reduced)
    turmeric £0.68
    stuffing mix £0.38 (reduced)
    8 peppers £1.20
    6 onions £1.50
    green chillis £0.49
    green beans £0.50
    bananas £1.05
    apples £0.69
    mushrooms £0.89

and there you have it, bought some reduced stuff that wasnt on the list (and dam razor blades), but thats bound to happen most weeks. Me and DS made flapjacks that are suitable for him to eat, and he LOVES them!!

on a plus note, my mum gave me half pack of mushrooms that she wasnt going to be using, and some cat food pouches that her cat dont like. So theres a bit of a saving!

Anyway, Im off to update my totals. TTFN

  • Evening all hope all is well

Have updated sig, went to see my sister today and met her in her shoping centre, visited her Mr T and somehow still managed to rummage the whoopsies even though i didnt need anything. Anyhow, had an interesting find, the deli counter must have been overrun with cheese cos they had a huge block of Pilgrims vintage cheddar or a name to that effect in there. Weighed over 1.3kg and was being sold for £6.16. It said half price on the label as was still packeged for the deli but even at half price i think its a bargain. To be honest i have no idea what im going to do with it, suppose i can freeze it? Hope so cos it wont get ate straight away. Strange thing was it had the 'display untill' date as being sometime in October but BB 22 sept:confused:. I love cheese but expect it will be strong so wont use as much. Spend about £4 on a value block of mild cheddar so i think a bargain.

Went asda too as decided i needed wine after a long meeting with my boss this afternoon but came away with the most gorgous little sleep set for dd at a fiver and some jeans for me for £3.

Speaking of jeans I have had to go up a size:eek: and am gutted. Havent checked my weight for about 5 or 6 weeks and am hugely devastated to find out ive put on 10lb in that time:eek: Im the heaviest ive ever been in my entire life and i can feel it too, feel so unfit. So yesterday dragged dh kicking and screaming round Asda while i reluctantly spent just under £20 on healthier options (out of my money as my problem!) Hve decided I have to do something now before my health starts to suffer. Am blaming some new tablets ive been prescribed about a month ago but i think that PERHAPS I JUST EAT TOO MUCH! There said it!

So am gonna make an effort tommorow to start getting rid of it, am thoroughly horrified.

Probably trying to lose weight will reduce my shopping bill as hopefully i wont eat as much crap!

Well wish me luck for what looks to be a very long journey!

Have been to Morrisons tonight - don't go there very often but DD wanted to go to the carpet shop next door. Got away with £9.89 so not too bad, got the things I went in for and didn't buy too many extras - though the box of mini danish woopsied to 29p was a smashing treat.

This month is going very well so far, and DD2 has just got a temp job for the next 4 months - so I may not have to buy her groceries as well!!
Off to try and meal plan for the rest of the week - need to eat up some of the freezer stocks to make room for Xmas food.
