  • can u use it to open a ebay account??
  • Hi BLTN....hope you are Ok Honey !! Nice to see you :hello:

Well the reason I am a tad unsure is that (& I am sad for reading the T&Cs before anyone says it:rolleyes::rolleyes:) but on the O2 Money Information Sheet ( O2 website)

Section 4 / point 4 reads as follows - ( I was particularly unsure on the point where it says `recover debt` see near the bottom of the copied page.

    {QUOTE -
Please note that where "you" or "your" are used in clauses 4 and 5 below they have the same meaning as cardholder.

So would this point to the ability of the Nat West to use the right of `set off` in this case?? or am I too suspicious.(as usual):confused:
    Hi SSA :j

Ohh thats got me worried now...can anyone explain further?
Think your right to be sus, i am now too:confused:

ps. SSA you read small print  don't you have a life?????;) glad you did though and think it about time i did:o

That only states they can use your information for debt collection purposes for traceing a debtor, it does not give them any right to offset, at least in the context of that paragraph.

As your not actually opening a bank account as such with the nat west, you should be safe, but knowing how they bend the rules to suit themselves...............
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Actually I had a similar experience in Aldi with my paypal prepaid (also an electron type card)....the checkout girl was insistant that they did`nt take it as it was`nt a `proper visa debit ` card (not got raised numbers either).......I insisted we give it a try & guess what...it worked!!

I have visa debits & electrons cards...& use Lidl quite often with no problem. I think sometimes the staff make quick judgements b4 they have tried the card in their card readers.

  • Hi all - I've just got the Load & Go card. PIN came within a few days, card took about 10. Activated the card, no probs. Loaded the card at a Pay Point, no probs. Used the card online, no probs. Tried to assign it to my Paypal account for ebay use - PROBLEM! I rang O2 money and because Load & Go card can be issued to under-18s, and Paypal put their items through as 'professional services' where you need to be over-18, the card cannot be used for this purpose. Grrrr!

So, I thought I could perhaps get the Cash Manager card to get around this problem. Nope - well, not for another year now. As I've been issued with a Load & Go card, I can only apply for Cash Manager card in a year's time.

Thought I'd share this with you guys as its not something that's obvious (well, not to me!). Grumbling aside, its still handy for online purchasing (to a degree).

    Happy weekend everybody!

  • I got an O2 Money Card last week. I'm also having problems with it being refused. Only used it three times and 2 of these were declined by Vodafone online and over the phone & Asda refused in store, very embarrassing, luckily I had another form of payment. Still haven't had the money put back to my O2 account though from saturday due to Asda processing through the machine and a "Ghost Transaction" occurring! The cash is somewhere in card cyberspace.
Going to stick with my Tuxedo prepaid card, although it has charges i've used it for over a year with no probs.

Just a quick update on my previous post, in reference to the "ghost transaction "that I mentioned happened when Asda processed my O2 card but then declined it. The money has still not been returned to my O2 card although I was told by both O2 and Asda that it will be returned within 2-3 days, that was on Saturday. Today they've said it will be soon!!

Please be aware of this, the amount is quite considerable at £136.00 and not an amount that I can temporarily forget about as it's needed to pay for other living costs.
