Hmm just seen this as a new pay as you go visa card...seems a little better than some (cant seem to see a charge for admin etc) only downside to this is you have to be an o2 customer either PAYG or contract

I saw an advert for it on tv last night, I am sure in this current climate these cards will become more and more available.. I think they are great i have the cash plus card and i can tell you I was more than grateful I had it in my purse when the Toll road booth refused my co-op electron!! all those cars behind me... hehe0

Mr P received his one today, one of the major benefits seems to be if you load it with your debit card it's instant, and it's free.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Apparently no credit check & get text messages to your O2 phone with balance after you use it.....I`d quite like that as I`m rubbish at remembering balances.
Its run by Nat West though & I am not too sure about that.

I applyed for one yesterday as although i like my paypal one it is a pain in that you have to wait 24 hours for the money to load on unless you want to pay at a paypoint. This one is free and instant to load and even free to withdraw from cash machines which my paypal one charges £2 for!0

ah thanks for posting about this - i was looking for a prepaid card as a backup a few months ago and then ordered one that has never arrived, then my mates said they would get me one for my birthday with some money loaded on as a present and that has been delayed cos they are all broke and useless!
but when looking i remember that it said these would be out in september - but that seemed like a long way a way at the time.
so ive just logged on and ordered one of these which is great as having a back up and not being able to use tesco online, train stations etc has been annoying me greatly.
cheers -

I have four pre pay cards now and the o2 one will be the 5th all with varied amounts on which I use in emergencies for bits and bobs, I like the idea of the instant upload, the ones I have had prior to this take between 24/72 hours to load which was the disappointing bit...0 -
Does it show up as an Electron card though? I have a Paypal Visa, which also has instant credit if you top up at a Paypoint outlet, but I cant pay my Orange bill with it as it shows up as an Electron0

In the list of BIN's the first 4 digits of the card 4227, it is not showing as Visa Debit or Electron but simply as Visa which is also where all of the credit cards show. The Paypal card even although it says debit is definitely Electron.
Has someone used one in a shop, what does the receipt say it's card type is I would imagine just "Visa", from the list I found.0 -

My paypal visa always shows up as visa or visa debit and i have used it at places that don't accept electron such as Tesco online.0 -
The Load and Go is pretty poor as you can only load a total of £1800 per year but the Cash Minder is much better. Both are free if you are an O2 Customer.
It is Visa (not Electron) and I ordered one the other day which is now inuse! Great way to monitor your money and no chance of debt! Woo hoo!If you know how to spend less than you get, you have the philosopher's stone. Benjamin Franklin0
