Don't ask me whether the keep the dress - I'd say keep it!
With regards to your hubby, I can totally identify with him. I have known for years about my debt, worried about it, stressed about - but didn't think to change my behaviour.
I carried on spending as if I had no knowledge of my debts. It is silly when I look back, but facing up to the reality of having to ACTUALLY PAY IT BACK took some time.
The penny has only dropped in the last 6 months, that I have to STOP SPENDING or the debts will keep growing and stop me moving on and getting to where I want to be in life.
It is really frustrating for you, I don't know how you can get him to face up to it....sorry for you0 -
well done on all that running
I would be tempted to keep the dress - I thought you said you ripped it a bit tho?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Happy and positive today
Have devised a spreadsheet which me and OH can share online with list of income and expenditure, which we update when we spend money and shows the balance left :j:j About to go through it with him, so he can see in black and white why it is so traumatic when he forgets to put in his expenses and the knock on effect it has! I am confident this will assist a little and I'm really excited about a new spreadsheet to be distracted with :rotfl:
Off to continue with it now. Ebay sales have done well and got my eye on some other stuff as well. Adios for now!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
2nd debt - MBNA - £6,618.52
First in many many to go - baby steps and all that!
First lump sum to go - fingers crossed!

:j That all sounds good! And boys like their technological toys, so your OH might really take to this spreadsheet. Clever IMD! :T Let us know how the talk-through goes.

I'm not really sure :rotfl::rotfl:I made it up in Excel and then imported it (bloody confused look please!!!!!) to Google which means I can share it with OH. I think I can email you the excel sheet instead if that's easier?1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

I have that bloody useless integrated Microsoft Office  so I think it wouldn't quite work unless you send it as quite a 'simple' file like text and tabs, or Excel 2007. Please! Please call me 'Pickle'

hi there..just subscribed after lurking for a bit.
Only got DF this summer after a bonus payment - before then crazy debts with several LBMs that seemed to go out when faced with something that looked nice or a good holiday..BUT the big difference for us has been a nifty app on OH's iphone. He was completely distant from all the domestic finances before. If you'd asked him what he got paid and when each month he'd have been stumped (and before you ask he doesn;t earn that much!!) just clueless...but this new app means that every 'discretionary' spend outside a direct debits gets logged. Its been brilliant and we now check in with each other for every spend pretty much. So still spending more than we'd like but its no longer controlling us and are now OPg the mortgage. Paid for our holiday next month from our holiday pot as well - 6 weeks before we travel - thats never happened before! So.. I think sharing on google or other apps are the way to go with making money saving seem cool to OHs..
Best of luck in my dreams. I'll keep on looking out for youMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
