Had a wibble wobble day today :( Got tempted by the shops and spent money (albeit on things I will wear and need but couldn't afford). Then spent a bit too much in shops, went in for dog food and bought a few extras  Honesty alert!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Spent about £100 I shouldn't have :mad::mad: it didn't go on the credit card but went on overdraft buffer zone.

Rang OH and 'fessed up, he was very good and thinks he has a bonus at the end of the month and I deserve a treat for clothes, but I don't deserve a treat and it could have gone off debt! Think I will take some of the clothes back.

Good thing I have done however is switch dog food. Dogs are now on a Costco diet for £14 a month instead of dried and canned food for about £70 a month  so it's not all entirely bad!

Mini IMD is poorly sick - hoping it's not swine flu.....

Not a good day in the IMD household :o(

Hi IMD - we all have wobbles. However - I think given that you have gone into overdraft buffer zone - that is expensive - I would take back what I could. I took about £50 of stuff back recently! Sometimes we have to do these things - it is part of our learning reinforcement process (taking things back) it is the same principle as telling the kids they have to wait or use their own money....

hope that doesn's sound too harsh :)

    Not harsh at all! :)

All labels on, still in bag, just emotional baggage and reason I'm here! Will be trotting back tomorrow and hopefully return with a spring in my step.

    Confession time is very rewarding!

Well done IMD! If you are willing to retrace your steps when you have a financial faux pas - then you will get back on to a stronger financial footing a bit quicker!

I really wanted a coat today - £15 off but still £35 and a scarf £12 - I managed to resist. I still bought a few things tho!

My confession for today is the expenditure of ONE WHOLE POUND on a drink - that was it :j and I returned said naughty clothes.

Work have promised us a bonus later in the month and I may use some of that to supplement winter work wardrobe in a more controlled way than legging it around Next and spending £100 without blinking

Having an absolute mare with Ebay horrible man, now getting nasty in his emails and really pestering, think I need to report him to ebay for being a nasty man! Can't even block his emails. He just keeps saying he will email me until I refund his postage - aarrggghhhhhh!!!

Didn't realise pet insurance up this month and so need to get that done for older dog before end of month and MOT/TAX next month as well. Have £340 put away but was hoping to build up a little sum for xmas and this will have to go, Fingers crossed OH's work will pay budget as promised to help us through this "sticky" period.

    Ho hum.......

At least you brought them back. I went a bit mad and spent £11.97 on 3 scrap books last week. They were amazing value and I'll definitely use them, but I shouldn't have bought them, even though I returned one: I should have returned them all! BAD Pickle!

Just updating before I nod off after an exhausting weekend so far!

Went out last night but was pre-planned and pre-budgeted so no huge shocks there. Was naughty and didn't eat my packed lunch and instead went out and spent £4.00 - was naughty of me  but I am not going to beat myself up about it!

I do feel I have a different approach at the moment, I had a wibble at the beginning of this week and before that would have meant I would have gone mad for the rest of the week, but instead I have sat down, took stock and kept at it. Normally once I lose control of anything in the budget the whole thing goes to pot and it would have meant the rest of the month would have gone on the credit card. But here I am being sensible. £74 budget starts again tomorrow! Few things we already know we need to spend so things will be tight but ok!

Cuddling up on the sofa with my little boy now watching a film, indeed the best things in life are free :D
