Sweetie it is a bummer looking at BT fees and interest but if you didn't look at it then each month you would owe MORE - so really although you are paying crappy amounts and its pants - it IS coming down and that is the most important thing.
BTD had ice-cream with her kids last week-end and mentioned how wonderful it was, before LBM she probably wouldn't have thought too much about ice-cream. I bet lots of imaginery money that your holiday will be full of 'forever moments' simply because it was be the most planned/thought out/want holiday you may ever have and each day will be magical - promise xxLBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

Me to HTGDF... I remeber a massive bath of balls in a campsite in Cornwall somewhere... would love to find it again as an adult (if I could let go of the "when was it last cleaned?" thing! :rotfl:)
I also remeber my little brother getting stung by a bee when jumping on the trampoline. And my dad getting soaked by some lorry spraying the road as he forgot to close his driver's wndow and was actually craning out of the window to see what the lorry was up to :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
And dad terrifying us by pretending to be a ghost outside the tent!
Yup, IMD, the kids will absolutely love it! As will you OH.(Just make sure there's a spa nearby and you may get away with sneaking off for a bit!... Oh, and that you have earplugs for the car journey!)

I agree with all the others. You are doing fantastic.Your debt is coming down and it's always a bit slower at first but as it gets lower so does the interest.Don't be hard on yourself. It's a long journey so you're bound to have some down days.
Camping sounds like it will be fun.I'm sure you'll enjoy it.0 -
Morning, glad things are brighter
I think you're right not to focus on the total sum - or the interest for that matter. You are paying more capital than interest, so think of it that way.
I also agree, regarding the break - you still have to live and are working really hard, so deserve to fill up your cup again.
We're going to the seaside on Sunday, just to get away. I've never been camping (except overnight in tents at festivals - but DH says that is not camping), but everyone says that the kids love it, so it might be an option.....
Have a good day x0 -
The numbers are going in the right direction. You are almost within budget. You have one additional income stream and can swap it for another.
All pretty good stuff. that £70k will soon be in the 60s.....and so on. Believe me, it DOES happen!!
Keep going, you are going great guns x
On the camping thing - just after we joined mse we went camping and the kids adored it and said it was as good as going to majorca!!!:rotfl:Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I agree.. we all love camping in my family ...there is nothing better than sitting outside your tent watching the sunset with a big glass of wine.. AND the kids love it. 5* hotels can be great but also fail to live up to expectations and anyway they never come in at £14 a night for a family of 4 (as it were!)MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

taxi is right, it does spead up as you go along, it really surprised me that once you seem to turn a corner it's almost as if the debt reduction is self-perpetuating and takes a life on of it's own. When i started off i couldn't see how i would ever get rid of mine, and sometimes i could only pay couple of quid (literally) off extra over the minimum payments but now i am able to over pay each month by between 200 - 400 and i really don't know where i'm finding it from.0

Hi LT :hello: Wow, every time I blink you've cleared another few £1000's :T
That is brilliant! When you find out where it's coming from, please PM me0 -
