I'm still at the "thinking about it" stage :rotfl:

As for being a lucky cow - well, I started off with £43000 of debt with them in 2004 - 2 loans and 2 cards. Over the last few years they have incorrectly defaulted me, placed a note on my credit file that I am on a DMP (which I am not) and have lost payments.........

They gave me the toughest 12 months of my life, resulting in me saying to their customer services "I can see why people throw themselves underneath trains"......... At which point they passed me over to someone who could deal with my complaint :rotfl:

So, I am very glad my relationship with them is over.......very very glad indeed!

  • Hmmm, maybe it would be good to get rid of them, I'll report back...............

I think they are one of those organisations where it can work really really well. But if it goes wrong, boy do you know about it!!

    Good luck x

  • Afternoon!

New day, organised DH's wallets from him with the chat about NOT using Debit card, we will see what today brings....

Been having a look around for House Insurance, found one with cashback on Quidco for £280 which seems to be the cheapest, but will have another look tonight. Forgotten how time consuming it can be when you look for a deal.

HAVE to do Ebay tonight, but trying to fit work in around the kids going to and coming home from School so end up working at night tpo catch up.

Am loving the lack of children in the house, complete peace and quiet - brilliant!!!

LOL @ organising OH's wallet - did he know you were going to do that or will it be a nice surprise?!

Know what you mean about searching for a deal, it can be so time-consuming but you know it's for a good reason... Doesn't make it any more of a pleasant task though!

I warned him I was going to have a look, found a few receipts, took a bit of money and put in the rest of spends. Needs must! Did apologise for treating him like a child and he took it on the chin :D

Re work expenses, I have been in a similar situation before. The best way I have found to deal with it is to get a cashback credit card that I only use for work. Then when the statement comes in I know I need to get my expense claim submitted for work and it is generally paid in time for when the payment is needed for the credit card so I don't incur interest. By using a cashback card as well it means I get something back for providing work with an interest free loan:cool:

    Would this work?

Thank you! Checked out the website but it says there's no freeview in my area, although we are due to changeover in November so surely something has to be in place?

It would work..........if OH didn't use the card we had got for this purpose for other payments! I have a Tesco Credit Card that we put shopping, petrol and expenses on and I pay it off monthly now but there is now a balance on it which has "crept" up. Has been good for Clubcard Vouchers. Working on OH on not using this so it can be used for the right purpose as it only has a small credit limit. There is a lot of working on him to be done right now :wall:

Hope it's not too boring! Had a wobble a few days ago but back to some normality now.

Had a lovely peaceful day today sans enfants, the holidays have been waaayyyyy too long! Dinner's in the oven, kids pottering around house and I have sat down with a book. Have spent a little money today on emergency chocolate when filling the car up and OK magazine, simply because I have a juvenile fettish for Peter Andre :o that my OH finds quite amusing.

Recurring thought, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay, ebay......................
